Dear deity,

   Fabtastic article I am gob smacked!  I think what you say has a lot of truth but again I think there is a tinge of judgement and over generalization.  Funny I have been a lot in Buddhist monasteries and temples and I have noted what you say and yet and yet there is a point at which retreat is the only way for some, the world is just too crazy, too much stress makes you numb and dumb and not so many are such heroes and so fearless we can go through all and remain Aware like Buddha facing the demon hordes of Mara, like Christ on the cross!   I long for retreat now I am so tired of old 3d stuff and it's not running away I have dealt with this for more than 30 years held down a job raised a family travelled the world you name it! and continued my spiritual search.   So I don't judge people who say enough is enough and feel the call of the cloisters or the zen mountain temple. Many numb themselves run away from life, and a few awaken for they have been through their stuff I guess in this and former lives and it's time for the hothouse treatment!  Maybe with Ascension enlightenment will be more available to more folk not just the spiritual elite marine corps!  or paras! that is the earth will become saner and more balanced and we won't have to go the mountains anymore; the spirit of the mountains will come to us whereever we are, and maybe we won't have to renounce everything violently leave the gals the money the job the stuff the backdrop of divine energies and consciousness will be there for us and even the trad distractors will point us Home!

we are always meditating on something

some of us are meditating on making money, some of us are meditating on material goals and some of us might be meditating on making music..

For some, they have gone off to the mountains meditated and completely transformed themselves..this is why I never  say something is an escape

I believe it is in the person..and how sincere they are..

having said that I also understand this post...
