Some will no doubt be surprised as they learn each new day how many problems we've lived with have gone unresolved, how many issues obscured and outright covered-up, mainly because to not to do so would cost someone their job. Or their lives.
The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. ~H. L. Mencken
