I love the idea of music to read by.  Regarding ego, it is 'self', 'identity'.  What if souls are all bridges between bodies and spirits...and in addition to being bridged to spirit guides, we can be bridged to our own true spirit self...and that spirit self is a facet of the whole, like a diamond is made of many facets?  We can appreciate each facet and still know that it is part of the whole.  Knowing oneself...one's true spirit self, divine in and throughout the physical, is necessary to understanding the whole.  So in that sense, 'ego' is critical.  The obstacle is not too much ego, but not enough of it.  When you can dive deep inside of yourself and truly know who you are...imagine if everyone woke up and did so <3.
