So what happens to those people whose banks close and do not reopen?

I have moderate brain damage resulting from a car accident. Accordingly the insurance company paid me an indemnity for the injuries that I sustained. That money has to last my entire life as I'm now unable to do my previous job. But if my bank goes bankrupt and does not reopen there goes everything I have. I'm all for the plan, don't get me wrong but this part hardly seems fair to me.
