My seven-year old Reiki Master boy and I were doing our morning Reiki together to 'Reiki Self First', laughing and enjoying the brief time we had before starting our day together. Master Usui 'popped in', just over my son's left shoulder, and beamed with pride, approving of his 'student'. 'Who were your Reiki Guides, anyway?' I asked him as he giggled and squirmed while he gave Reiki to me, his hands warm with healing energy.
'Um, I think it was Archangel Michael.' he said, concentrating on his work.
'Oh, okay. I'm seeing Dr. Usui right now. He seems pleased with you.'
'Okay, mom. Thanks.' (He forgot to close my aura, and I chided him, laughing, 'I can't go walking around with my aura open, leaking all this good healing energy everywhere I go, can I?' He caught himself and closed it, laughing himself.)
I spent the day with friends from out of town. I took them to Mission San Juan Capistrano for their first time. As a Catholic (not so active lately), there is an old saying that 'if you say three Our Fathers, three Hail Marys, and three Glory Be's upon first entering a new church, you get a wish.' I decided to make wishes for my son and my three friends, letting them know, and kneeling and saying the prayers for them. A comfort like an old blanket came over me, in Serra Chapel. I had spent much time there attending mass before I 'woke up'. As I prayed, the spirit of my friend's deceased brother came to me, and kissed me on the cheek. 'Thank you for all you have done for my brother.' You see, the extended family was getting together at five thirty to commemorate his passing one year ago at the house of his widow. I had taken my friend, his wife and daughter, to breakfast, to the beautiful gardens, and planned next to take them to tea. They were relaxed and laughing, taking photos, and forgetting for a few hours why had come down for the weekend from the Bay Area.
My patient who had passed unexpectedly last week 'popped up'. My riskiest case ever, she had 'sailed through' and shown results from her operation. This procedure had taken my full concentration for three solid hours. Now 'he had something to say to me.' I keep a book where I write all of my messages from patients like him who have passed. Somehow, he knew. They all know. I haven't written it yet, but I made plans with him to do so in the near future.
When you are a medium, you 'can't turn it off'. Except when you are busy with a deadline, and you send out the message to be 'offline' for a while as you work. You serve in a capacity that others do not. And you keep most of what you 'see' to yourself.
T.V. shows like Ghost Hunters, exploit these apparitions, and provoke them. I saw a bit of an episode Friday night. It scared my Reiki boy so much he could not sleep alone. And he sees ghosts just as much as I do! Do not support shows like these. They are not spiritual in any way, even though they propose that they are. Spirituality, and mediumship is an art, a gift, an ability that when functioning is like a beautiful musical instrument. You can enrich your life, and learn mediumship too. Take psychic development classes at a place near where you live. Only four or so should get you 'on track'. And soon, with the Ascension, everyone will have the ability, even if you don't take courses. But you might want to get some pointers on how to use it, and go any way.
Namaste.
