We are all one with all, so remembering "who we are" seems a glaring contradiction.  All labels and identity fall away.  All here now.  No such thing as time.

Conscious evolution is a natural thing.  In the early stages its not even an awareness that it is happening, but then the epiphany arrives and a kernel pops.  As the oil heats up a rapid duplication occurs until the whole pan is full.  Soon the lid will blow off!!!
