Sexuality is closely associated to spirituality in many ways. Although the topic of sex arouses a strong reaction and is often viewed as an obstacle on the path of spiritual development due to the wild nature of sexual energy. Sexual energy is the primal and creative energy of the universe, it opens our heart to love, and enable us to experience deep meditative states and mystical bliss.

Many wise traditions consider the peak moment of sexual energy the death of the ego. When somebody experiences intimacy and reaches orgasm, we feel vulnerable, defenseless, carefree and there is a sense of timelessness. These are the characteristics and true nature of our spirit. Living your life with this level of intimacy would allow the creative energy of the universe to merge with your spirit. Wouldn’t that make it important to be aware with who you share this intimacy with?

Edward Bernays is possibly one of the most influential people of the 20th century, yet so few have heard of a man who has manipulated much of Western society into compliance. His philosophies and understanding of the human psyche still shape public policy, political campaigns, and corporate integration to this day. How corporations deliver their messages, how politicians coerce citizens to believe and enter into phoney wars, how terrorism is promoted and engenders fear into the masses, and how Think Tanks are used to manipulate citizens were all in the realm of Edward Bernays.

We are constantly in contact with our higher selves; they are an infinite aspect of us. It is an interconnected aspect of our consciousness that sends and receives information from us at all times. It takes the practice of concentration and deeply listening to hear your higher self directly.

A lot of the time, the ways they send messages are subtle and it’s our job to figure out the meaning behind them. Our higher selves want us to learn and ask questions, not to just be given the answer.  Here are some of the subtle ways our higher selves communicate with us.

1. Through our own thoughts

A common question asked within the spiritual community is when will I receive direct contact? For a lot of us, the answer is you already are.

God said:

Thoughts are throw-a-ways. This is the nature of thoughts – here today, gone tomorrow. There is no saving or filing away all the thoughts you run through even in one afternoon.

In fact, you may have a thought so rich that you run to write it down. Before you reach your pen and paper or computer or shopping list, the thought has fled. It ran away without you, yet, where did it go? Where and what the thought is now? You have no idea. It already flew away, and, for the life of you, you can’t seem to bring it back. Of course, it could pop back into your mind at an unknown moment, and you may see that a thought is only a thought and not the great revelation you thought it was and perhaps is. Anyway, you have lost that thought now.

In one sense, We could say that your thoughts ARE the life you live. We could say then that your thoughts are as fleeting as life itself. You simply cannot hold on to your thoughts any more than you can hold onto time. Or, if you hold onto a thought, you have subdued it. You may have broken it down, and then your thought is like a bird on the wing caught and put into a cage and the little door of the cage closed. Whereas it makes sense to say that your life is made of your thoughts, this is not the whole story of your life. Your life also consists of All That Which Is Beyond Thought.
