The 1950s was the era of the “American dream”. Hollywood movies reminded to American families that they were the standard of happiness and lived in a climate of confidence and optimism. In this fairytale environment, behind the American dream and Hollywood movies, on 13 April 1953, CIA began secret Mind Control programs that involved experiments on unsuspecting citizens.

Substances that were used in the experiments were aimed to promote irrational thinking and alter the structure of the personality, while there also was the use of methods that caused shock and confusion over extended periods of time, as well as methods and substances that caused physical disability, such as paralysis of the lower extremities, acute anemia and many other things. Why all this? It was the period of the Cold War.

BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT   Consider your physical human body as one point of a triangle, the conscious part of your mind as the second point of a triangle, while the third point is the part of your essence self that is still in spirit form, commonly called the “Higher Self.” These three work in a symbiotic fashion to allow for the experience within the realm of humanity on planet earth.

Your physical body is similar to a computer, having the capability of storing tremendous amounts of information. Humans store emotions and memories in various parts of the body. Events that cause emotional and mental trauma can be as much a cause of dis-ease as physical traumas. Even thoughts of trauma or the fear of being traumatized can be stored in the body and cause reactions similar to having experienced an event. There are many cases of “miracles” in which people’s tumors spontaneously dissolved, bones healed rapidly, heart diseases cured overnight, etc. Many times these miracle cures came as a result of fervent prayer. This is one clue that “loving” thoughts can “undo” the damage caused by fear-based thoughts.

God said:

Unless you are moving forward, you are simply holding on or perhaps going backwards. Past practice may consume your seeing and thinking and responding. You relive the past in the present. Pretty much you tend to play out the present as, once upon a time, you did the past.

You tend to hit the same obstacles. You flounder as you floundered before. Life presents itself to you the way it used to. It brings out the same things within you that it used to do. Beloveds, it is not meant to be this way.

Hit the road, Jack. Hit the road.

You are meant to see differently and then grow until you burst all boundaries.

Imagine all that you learned in the first year of your life. A bushel. It’s phenomenal.

Now that you are adult, your life is to continue to grow. You’re not done yet. To grow means to expand. To grow means to learn. To grow means to grow up. To grow means to change. Even when growing means you have to be sadder and wiser, grow. Grow in the direction you want to grow in.

You cannot stay the same. You can’t stand still. Not even dead matter stays the same. But you are alive. You can hang on to a rung of a ladder or you can climb up a rung.

When you’ve come this far, keep climbing.

This is how to gain independence. I won’t say going out on a limb, though you may see this as letting go of the limb you presently hold onto. Beloveds, there is no status quo. Move ahead or slip back. Go higher or fall back.

There is an expression: “Knock some sense into your head.”

For the fourth time since 2013, the March Against Monsanto will take place in cities around the world. On May 23, 2015, concerned activists, urban farmers, and environmental activists will hit the streets of 428 cities spread across 38 countries.

The MAM movement was started in late 2012 in an effort to raise awareness to the potential dangers surrounding Monsanto’s genetically modified seeds, as well as the carcinogens present in the company’s top herbicide, Roundup.

Within the decentralized protests there are a range of solutions offered. Some activists are taking part in campaigns calling for labeling of all food products that have been genetically engineered. Others are marching in support of community gardens and urban farms as a strategy to defeat Monsanto. There are even marchers that are in support of the technology but wary of the collusion between biotech companies and the government.

The Moral Hazard of Modern Banking

Much has been said about both the moral hazard of banks being bailed out and people bailing out of mortgages. The major question raised was, would this ‘bailout’ contagion infect the integrity of our economic and political system? But far more interesting and much less discussed are the mechanics of modern banking and their moral implications.

During the housing boom trillions were loaned out in mortgages creating a housing bubble and the eventual collapse of the financial markets. But where did all that money come from? The vast majority of people think that banks borrow money from the Fed or depositors at one rate, lend it at another and make a spread. This concept is completely false. Banks create money, loan it out, make their margin through compound interest, and destroy the same money that they created as it is paid back.
