Perhaps a deep rooted joy and peace does not lie in the pursuit of happiness, but in addressing the contributors to one’s perception of unhappiness.

Popular today are encouragements to think positive, happy and grateful thoughts. And if that comes easily and naturally, stay with that! However, there are many, myself included, who have discomfort with denying current feelings. Instead of ‘faking it’ till it feels real, I prefer to acknowledge, examine and allow whatever is my truth in the moment. The wonderful thing about impermanence is that no matter what it is, or how intense it feels, it will surely pass. But in the interim period, instead of arguing it away, or disowning it, here are some simple things we can do to help ourselves regain centredness.

The suggestions have been organized to look at things from a physical level, emotional level and then eventually from a higher perspective.

Enlightenment is a tricky word: it means different things to different people. For some, it’s the path that leads to the summit of spiritual attainment. Others think it’s complete and utter baloney. Still others see it simply as a state of consciousness. Whatever the case may be, the tricky part of enlightenment lies within the word itself. Its definition lacks the universal (or objective) notion of what enlightenment actually is, hence the confusion.

The basic philosophy that underlies channeling and the ‘new age’ community is that there are higher, spiritually refined planes of existence beyond the physical earth. In these realms are believed to exist all kinds of spiritually evolved entities who, in service to Source, attempt to communicate with beings in lower realms.

Their objective is to connect with us and help us spiritually evolve, and a lot of different channeled messages glitter the internet these days. There are messages that claim to come from angels, archangels, extraterrestrials, ascended masters – the list goes on and on.

While each message is unique, they all share a common theme, which is that the channeled entity gives spiritual advice that’s meant to help us learn, grow and refine our consciousness to the point that we can spiritually evolve.

Fasting has been done in spiritual and religious practices for millennia across the world by Christians, Buddhists, Muslims, Jews, Sikhs, and more. It is the act of consciously depriving oneself of food and/or drink for 24 hours or more.

Fasting has been used for deep meditation and spiritual healing in the past, but modern science is starting to recognize its potential health benefits.

A new study conducted at the University of Southern California suggests that not only can prolonged fasting help prevent immune system damage, but can produce hematopoietic stem cells which generates blood and cells in the immune system.

There's a lot of good advice in this article, but I wanted to add a word of caution. This can be used to manipulate and control another person, which is not something healthy for you or the other person. What we really need now is to open people up, not try to implant our beliefs into them.

How do you change someone’s mind?

Well first of all, you have to be aware of the fact that people rarely change their mind on fundamental issues in one conversation. The mind is like a river running down the side of the mountain. It has momentum and likes a path of least resistance. In order to change the course of a river you have to divert it in such a way that another path down the mountain becomes lower and easier to follow. So it is with the mind. The mind likes its habit pattern because it is familiar, and so it is often reluctant to change.

Every day more people connect and learn they are not alone. While the manipulated matrix makes it difficult for the awake and aware to be physically together, the great world wide grid of love and consciously awakened individuals continues to spread like “weeds”.

As we sow and grow we’re coming closer together continually. In fact, we’re probably bumping into each other and don’t even realize it.

That’s why it’s important to keep communicating. We know the same central Truth, the heart of man being the same the world over, we know it only awaits awakening to come to full fruition.

Look for it, expect it. What you already know in your heart to be true you’ll see manifest in wondrous and wonderful ways.
