In the town of Jackson, Wyoming, this vacant lot will soon be able to supply its residents with fresh herbs, vegetables, and a bounty of tomatoes year-round.

Wyoming, a land-locked state in the United States which sits one mile above sea level, is one of the last places you’d expect such an innovative concept to take off… which is what makes it that much more exciting.

Residents in this mid-western location are no stranger to the burden of cold, bitter winters here. Feet of snow and difficulty growing produce year round leave most locals dependent upon imported fruits and vegetables… as well as the kindness of their neighbor to shovel their walkway.

But thanks to the creators of a new initiative called Vertical Harvest, a bounty of fresh tomatoes, micro-greens, and herbs should soon be available to locals in the area of Jackson, Wyoming.

Thousands of thoughts enter in and out of our mind every minute of every day, some consciously and some subconsciously. Being aware of all the voices in your mind is challenging but also crucial on the path to enlightenment.

In fact, many spiritual teachers and the practice of meditation, teaches us not to engage with our thoughts and to instead be the observer. For after all, we are not our thoughts, but the observer behind them- we are the one who is listening to our thoughts.

While meditation can be a fantastic practice, it is not always possible to ignore the voices of our mind. The internal dialogue that we all have is fundamental to our health and our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

A team of researchers in Europe have created a prototype device called The Fungi Mu​tarium which uses fungi to safely break down plastic and replace it with edible mushrooms.

The research team is comprised of two Vienna-based industrial designers and a number of researchers at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands.

The device that they created harnesses the natural cleaning and purifying power of fungi, and creates a condition where the fungi can easily break down and absorb the trash, replacing it with more fungi.

The device has been described by some as a dome shaped incubator, which contains several pods that hold liquefied fungi sprouts. Thin strips of plastic are placed into the device, and after several weeks, there is no longer any trace of plastic.

In the near future, it may become possible to extract sensitive information from the brain with the help of invasive software or spyware.

It is not really important if you want to share this information with anyone or not because this software will force you to do it against your will.

Your thoughts will no longer be only yours.

At USENIX Security conference, scientists showed that it is really possible to “program” your mind through software to force you to reveal information that all people would prefer not to share with the world.

The Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) becomes more and more cheap and widely used. As stated in the research paper on the feasibility of side-channel attacks with brain-computer interfaces, this system analyzes brain activity and thus makes communication between a user and an external device possible. In recent decades, the BCI has been applied mainly in the medical field and was aimed at increasing the quality of life for patients suffering from severe neuromuscular disorders.
