Activists from 26 countries Protesting Fracking Saturday!

We've just had our own episode of Fracking demonstrations here in eastern Canada, in the province of New Brunswick.  The aboriginals (native peoples) upon whose land fracking was to be applied blocked roads and engaged in an unarmed peaceful round the clock protests to stop these enterprises from entering and raping their lands.

After two weeks of this our conservative government responded by sending in RCMP and army fatigued tactical squads to deal with the protestors.  The protestors, for their part carried feathers, played drums and sang ritualized songs that I will guess have to do with the protection of Mother Earth.

The protest grew violent when the police and armed tactical units moved on the protestors. On television you could readily see the lineup of armed police with machine gun carrying tactical units on one side facing a frightening crowd of elderly native women, men and children carrying feathers and drums.  I can only imagine what war stories these tactical units would have to tell later as they debriefed over the affair. "Yeah man, we were facing a terrible situation. They had feathers man and they were going to use them.  We feared for our lives."

And it did turn ugly and violent due to planned and determined affronts by the police on these unarmed people.  How else could the police justify their presence and abusive intervention when facing such an ungodly assembly of feather armed women, children and tribal elders. They had to turn them into at least a picture of some threat so they could apply force against them.

Well vehicles were set on fire and 40 protestors were arrested.  No police were arrested or charged because we all know they are the "innocents" in all this.  The Canadian government has turned to using muscle to move disadvantaged groups out of the way so they can continue their agenda of acting on behalf of corporate interests whose only goal is to continue to rape and pillage the planet.

This is cement head thinking par excellence.  "The only way to create jobs and grow prosperity is to rape and pillage the planet." I applaud and support every group that stands up to these cowards, these fear-mongering Tragaladites, and ironically I have to thank our respective governments for employing their bullying tactics that are pissing off more and more people who are now mounting world wide protests.

Good on you protesters.  I applaud you.
