Natural Remedies: Canna Tea

Cannabis is (thankfully and finally) emerging as human medicine in its own right. Veterinarians have used properties in cannabis to treat their animal patients for years. http://antiquecannabisbook.com/chap14/Veterinary.htm

While currently science won't say that cannibis "cures," it is easily accepted as an agent of "healing". The healing occurs as palliative to soothe and ease pain, as psychoactive -which is what most people associate with cannibis, and finally as a biological healing when the natural chemicals, called cannabinoids, within cannabis interact on a physiological level.
We are still discovering numerous other cannabinoids in the plant and mapping their actions on both cellular and neurological levels. Many seem to hold keys to reversing cancer cell reproduction.

THC is the primary psychoactive chemical in cannabis. In the field of mind/body medicine, positive changes in the mental state have an enormous impact on the body's natural inclination towards wellness.

CBDs and CBNs are two other cannabinoids found in cannabis that offer pain relief and help to reduce inflamation. These properties do not produce the euphoric "high" of THC.
Many medical marijuana dispensaries have each strain of their crop analyzed so patients can choose a product based on the percentage of CBDs or CBNs they require.

The Canna Tea recipe below is one of my favorites and I use it in place of Tylenol, Ibuprofen or other synthetic pharmaceuticals. At bedtime you can even add some Chammomile flower or Valerian root powder for a pain-free night of sleep with no "hangover" in the morning.
THC is oil-soluble which means the THC will only leech from the leaf when enough heat is supplied (as through smoking). The CBDs, CBNs and other cannabinoids are water-soluble, meaning they are released easily in the presence of water.
This tea recipe is popular for those who want to avoid the psychoactive effects of THC. The trick is to allow the leaves to sit in the hot water for a full 30 minutes.

Canna Tea
Use about 1 tsp chopped cannabis leaves per cup of tea. Use boiling or very hot water and allow to steep for
30 minutes.
You can add honey to sweeten if you like.

This tea can be reheated to drink, or it can be chilled and enjoyed as a cool summer drink. You can also make a larger batch and store it in your refrigerator for several days.
Illness can be a powerful transformative opportunity! This secret is reflected in the vocabulary of shamans and healers throughout time who speak of a "healing crisis" rather than "disease."
It becomes a journey where the causes are confronted and overcome through the help of natural medicines, your spiritual guides and your own access to the universal healing life force we know as Source.

He Who Knows The Center Endures
Who knows the outside is clever
Who knows the center endures
Who masters others gains robot power
Who comes to the center has flowering strength

Faith of consciousness is freedom
Hope of consciousness is strength
Love of consciousness evokes the same in return

Faith of seed frees
Hope of seed flowers
Love of seed grows

Do you have other canna-recipes or stories of a journey through illness?
We'd love to hear about them!

It's beginning to be an alternative regarding medicine intake. Some adds mixture to give the tase a little twist. But the effect would be the same.
