Retired American Bishop Explains How The Church Invented Hell & What Religion Is Really Used For

It must be synchronicity that I came upon this article tiday, a few hours after watching a documentary about the Catholic Inquisition period.
The Church opened their secret files of the Inquisition tothe public in 1998.
It was a Tragedy and a Travesty of Justice that so many millions were tortured and murdered (many burned alive) in the name of "God" and religion.
I feel that now that we,as a people, are able to think and believe for ourselves, without those repercussions (and the lesser, societal ones for centuries after), that those type of left-brained religions will eventually fade away.
Religions put a ceiling, a finite end to Questioning existence, and all the knowledge that brings.
