He broke your heart, violated your trust, betrayed your confidence, ignored your needs, and disrespected you. When you tell your friends, they shake their heads, clucking, shaming. You’re better off without him. He doesn’t deserve you. You can do better than him. You make up a story, one that casts him as the villain and you as the victim of his dastardly deeds. It’s a good story, the kind they make movies about. You feel righteous when you kick him to the curb. You did the right thing, they all say. There’s lots more fish in the sea.

But deep down, there’s hurt underneath the anger. And beneath the hurt lies Something Larger, something that understands why he did it, something you’d have to reckon with if you acknowledged it, something that disrupts your story. So you stick to your story, ignoring what lies beyond it. It’s easier that way. You have to protect yourself, after all.

But I ask you this. What would Love do?

Do you ever find yourself taking on the negative energy of others? If so, you are not alone. Most of us come in contact with numerous people every day – who bring us down.

We all feel it. We know when we are with someone who is high-spirited and happy or someone who is low and unhappy, but why is it so easy for others to affect us in negative ways? Some of us cannot even go into supermarkets without taking on the woes of everyone in the store. In order to shield ourselves from negative energy, we must first understand how our energy is infiltrated by others.

Where does today lead? No one knows. Many can speculate.
 
Today may be winter, and there is a thaw. Tomorrow may be a blizzard. The best-laid plans, so well-thought out, may disappear in a moment. It is not that you are to hold on to plans made with so much consideration. You are to let go of them. Ride the waves, beloved. See where they take you.
 
Okay, now there is a tornado, and now you find yourself in a tree. What is there to do but to take finding yourself in a tree in your stride? Climb down from the tree, if you can. Otherwise, someone will come to get you. Whatever happens in life cannot be foiled. You can’t slow it down, nor can you hasten it. Do what you can do that helps you furrow through life. In any case, your story will continue whether it is known in the world or not.
 
On Earth, your life seemingly steps out from Infinity. You find yourself on a street corner. Regardless of how your life may seem to you, you are not away from Infinity. You have not been excluded from it. You are as much a part of Infinity as ever, only it is not clear to you while you are on this temporary stop on a corner of life. You are here for only a little while. It seems to you that you are on detour. The fact is that you are moving forward, and the particular path you are on will not occur again. Enjoy. Stop arguing with it. This is your chance of a lifetime.

Research on the placebo effect is revealing some amazing discoveries about the power of belief. Placebos were created to control for suggestion, imagination, and bias in both investigators and patients in clinical studies.(1) At the time placebos were first introduced into medical research, investigators didn’t know how they produced their effects. As the field of neuroscience has evolved, it is becoming clear that belief induced within the context surrounding the placebo produces very specific and powerful physiologic effects.

Research shows there are actually multiple placebo effects. In other words, there are multiple ways the placebo influences the body-mind to heal depending upon the therapy or condition being treated. This research shows that the placebo effect is mediated by the release of neurotransmitters, consistently impacts certain areas of the brain, and even mirrors the action of pharmaceutical drugs on human physiology.

Sure, Monsanto is listed as one of the most hated companies on the planet, but what about other biotechnology giants such as DuPont?

This company has been terrorizing the planet for far too long, but they hide easily in Monsanto’s ominous shadow. It’s easy to lose sight of the other companies that are just as responsible for ruining our food supply and contaminating our water, soil, and air, as we just focus on a singular mammoth corporation. But we need to open our eyes to see the entire collection of carnage these companies commit – or to get to know the other rotten apples in the bunch.

DuPont is just as big in genetically-modified seeds and agricultural chemicals, and pursues largely the same policies as Monsanto with respect to pricing, IP enforcement, and other blatant, propagandizing, corporate maneuvers.
