How often have you thought you were truly in love, only to lose those in-love feelings after a few months? Have you believed you were in love but discovered that you were ‘in need’ instead?

• Do you project onto them how you want them to be, rather than how they are?
• Are you primarily focused on how your partner treats you, rather than who he or she really is inside?
• Are you overly impressed by how this person makes you feel...

We buy stuff to cheer ourselves up, to keep up with the Joneses, to fulfill our childhood vision of what our adulthood would be like, to broadcast our status to the world, and for a lot of other psychological reasons that have very little to do with how useful the product really is. How much stuff is in your basement or garage that you haven’t used in the past year?

The real reason for the forty-hour workweek

The ultimate tool for corporations to sustain a culture of this sort is to develop the 40-hour workweek as the normal lifestyle. Under these working conditions people have to build a life in the evenings and on weekends. This arrangement makes us naturally more inclined to spend heavily on entertainment and conveniences because our free time is so scarce.

Without Internet accessibility for all, ‘world’s full potential for prosperity and innovation’ will be stifled, think tank says.

An overwhelming majority of Internet users around the world—83 percent—believe that affordable access to the Internet should be considered a human right.

That was among the findings of a survey by the think tank Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) and conducted by global research company Ipsos. The results were presented Monday in Ottawa, where the Global Commission on Internet Governance, an initiative by CIGI and Chatham House, is holding a two-day meeting.

“Overwhelming global public support for the idea that access to the Internet should be a human right also shows just how important the Internet has come to freedom of expression...

We all need to create healthy boundaries. Whether you’re highly sensitive (like I am) or not, this is an essential daily practice that helps you protect your energy and harness it in ways that have a positive impact.

I’ve always been sensitive to the energy of words, the news, how people were treating each other or animals and struggles in different parts of the world. For most of my life I was unaware that I was absorbing so much information around me — but I take in more than just what meets the eye, and I feel things strongly. I often can tell when someone on the world stage is lying, or I can feel what’s not being said when someone is talking; I feel the pain or emotion in a situation, and I empathize deeply with others’ experiences.

We don’t often post personal stories on Wake Up World, but this one really touched a chord. This article is the first in a series from a father who recently turned to Cannabis Oil to help heal his son from a grade-4 brain tumor after conventional radiotherapy treatment failed. Hope for Jayden – a Father’s Story

Just over 12 months ago, my son Jayden was diagnosed with one of the worst conditions currently known in the medical world; a Grade 4 Glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor. At the time he was 4 years old. The consultants gave my wife and I the horrific news after completing a biopsy and MRI Scan, which confirmed the illness. It was a freak of nature really, as 2 days before the diagnosis Jayden fell of a spinning roundabout at a local children’s park. He became extremely unsteady on his feet so we called for an ambulance asap.

David also explains the difference between THC, marijuana’s active ingredient, and CBD, the non-intoxicating cannabinoid that’s found in industrial hemp.

A hidden spiritual power permeates the land around us, and those of us who are willing to open up to it can access and feel it. I’ve just started to tap into it, and I feel it in its strongest doses when I’m in nature.

I’ve only received an inkling of the spiritual power that flows from this land, but from what I’ve felt so far, it’s incredibly potent. I’m sure it’ll eventually uplift those who’ve been lost in unawareness for too long to really feel or understand it, and when it does, we’ll finally see how badly we’ve hurt the earth.

My intuition tells me that this hidden spiritual power is love, which is a force that most people are unaware of in a greater sense and unwilling to pursue with any degree of seriousness...

To expose our wounds to people we care about – the icky stuff, the ego stuff, the personal growth edges we’re working on that we haven’t yet mastered – is super vulnerable. Letting others see our “big ugly tails” (hat tip to my dear friend Amy Ahlers, who has seen my big ugly tail and trusted me enough to let me see hers) tends to trigger all our core fears of rejection and abandonment, of withdrawal of love.

But to bear witness to someone’s wound is a privilege and an opportunity to deepen the relationship beyond the idealistic views we might have of each other into the real truth of both our light and our shadows.
