Your lifestyle can be generally healing and supportive of good health, or the root of disease. Exercise, for example, has been shown to be as effective as modern drugs for heart disease and diabetes.

Likewise, food has tremendous healing potential, and can rightfully be viewed and approached as “medicine.”

In some cases, specific food items can help speed healing of an acute health problem, such as a bout of cold or flu. In other cases, the effect is more long-term and preventive in nature.

Either way, keeping your kitchen stocked with REAL foods, i.e. unprocessed, whole, and non-GMO (ideally organic and locally grown) is a wise move if you seek to optimize your health and quality of life.

Here, I’ll review and summarize a few of my “medicinal superfood” favorites.

Service to the Universe

God said:

Beloveds, when the world is too much with you and the thought of work lowers your vibration, then think of another word for work. When the word work - which is, after all a thought – makes your heart sink, then find a happier word for work. How you feel about your life is based upon your thoughts.

Then call work play. Call it joy. Call it focus. Call it an expression of love for your family. Call it a blessing. Call work your service to the world. Call work your service to Me, and make the journey light.

If you liked going to school, think of work as a school you go to. That will take some of the weight off you.

If you didn’t like school, call your place of employment your after-school activities. It is, isn’t it, now that you are no longer in school?

Call work an opportunity. Call it a saving grace. Work is, after all, a saving grace. It keeps you occupied. You may desire days with nothing you have to do. In reality, you don’t want a forecast of nothing to do. Being without something you are responsible for may make you aimless or indulgent. Nothing to do may make little things big. With nothing you have to do for any length of time, you grasp at straws. Embedded in nothing to do definitely gives you more time to think about yourself. This is not always a favor. Focus is good. Better to employ yourself with work and fill up your days than wonder what to do with illusive time.

China to Build World’s First Amethyst Crystal Hotel

While physical aestheticism is a rather vital element when it comes to designing a building to permanently insert into a skyline, it is merely one of the ways in which architecture can be beautiful.

A project from NL Architects’ that is proposed for the man-made island Ocean Flower, Hainan, China is a rather profound embodiment of such notions of beauty. If built, it would be the world’s first Amethyst Crystal Hotel.

As with most things, buildings are reflections of their makers. It is human nature to be drawn to that which is beautiful, and yes, beauty definitely resides in the eye of the beholder, but what is truly beautiful about a person, or in this case, a building, is what lies beneath the surface.

Scientific Links Between Processed Foods and Depression

Research shows that the food you eat can have a profound effect on your mental health. So, regardless of your mental health problems, the importance of addressing your diet simply cannot be overstated.

In a very real sense, you have two brains — one in your head, and one in your gut. Both are created from the same tissue during fetal development, and they’re connected via your vagus nerve, the tenth cranial nerve that runs from your brain stem to your abdomen.

It is now well established that the vagus nerve is the primary route your gut bacteria use to transmit information to your brain, which helps explain why mental health appears to be so intricately connected to your gut microbiome 1 — the bacteria and other microbes living in your gut.

400 published scientific papers have proven the old adage that “music is medicine.” Neurochemical benefits of music can improve the body’s immune system, reduce anxiety levels and help regulate mood in ways that drugs have difficulty competing.

“We’ve found compelling evidence that musical interventions can play a health care role in settings ranging from operating rooms to family clinics,” says Prof. Levitin of McGill University’s Psychology Department. “But even more importantly, we were able to document the neurochemical mechanisms by which music has an effect in four domains: management of mood, stress, immunity and as an aid to social bonding.”
