How many of you have at one time or another woken up unable to speak or move? If you have, you are not alone.
The classic definition for this phenomenon is called sleep paralysis. It may last a few seconds, several moments, or occasionally longer and usually occurs right before you are about to fall asleep or wake up. Many people report feeling a “presence” that is often described as malevolent, threatening or, evil, and usually experience a tremendous amount of terror.
The presence is usually seen, felt and even heard. People also report unique experiences like the sensation of floating or being outside the body. They believe the phenomenon to be an extremely spiritual one.

In a world where “the norm” is healthy, sustainable, just, and moral, there would be no reason to write this article. But alas, we do not live in that world. We live in an absurdly unhealthy world of makeshift tyrannies, stopgap superfluities, and substitute (hyper) realities.
The only way to engage with such a world is to devote ourselves to being free. Like Albert Camus said, “The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.” This isn’t being negative. This is being real. This is being vulnerable to actuality. This is embracing the way things are, here and now, in order to achieve a sacred space where real healthy change can begin to take place.

It’s no secret that food security is becoming a critical issue around the world. With drought, economic instability, erratic weather and interruptions in transportation a very real threat, it really doesn’t take much to have the food supply disrupted. We’re certainly not immune to these effects in the West, especially since we rely heavily on corporate farming and mega supermarkets. Add to this population growth and the ecological toll of conventional, large-scale food production, and we have a seriously unsustainable system in place — one that could topple at any time. The drought in California, USA is a perfect example, where entire almond orchards and other crops have been laid to dust.

Lucid dreaming and experiencing the astrals is monumental in the evolution of our consciousness. To be able to explore the deepest, uncharted parts of our mind would completely effect how we exist after we wake up.
When we fall asleep, our minds slip into unconsciousness before our physical body does. Sleep paralysis occurs when the mind is consciously feeling the body falling asleep – and it’s usually quite uncomfortable. For many, there’s an intense pressure that weighs down on you with such force that you feel like you can’t breathe.

I no longer want to play small or watch from the background as other people fulfill their passions, and I want to contribute as continuously and wholeheartedly as everyone else who’s using their creativity and spirituality to uplift the world.
I no longer want to keep myself from saying certain things just because I feel like it isn’t my place or it’ll offend someone.
I want to express exactly what I feel in any given moment, and the struggle to figure out exactly how I want to contribute to this revolution diminishes when I realize that the tools I need to seriously express myself have been in front of me the whole time.

Fed up with soaring rates of disease from intravenous drug use, Portugal tried something radical: they decriminalized drugs. Yes, all drugs. Across the board from marijuana to heroin to ecstasy. And it worked.
In July 2001, Law 30/2000 went into effect, decriminalizing the purchase, possession, and consumption of all drugs for personal use. Though this is not the same as legalization, and the drugs are still illegal, “Otherwise, we would have gotten in trouble with the UN”, Dr João Goulão, President of the Institute of Drugs and Drug Addiction and architect of the law, explains, it shifts the focus from punishment to treatment, so getting caught using these drugs amounts to little more than the equivalent of a parking ticket. “We figured perhaps this way we would be better able get things under control. Criminalization certainly wasn’t working all that well.”
A team of University of Utah seismologists discovered and made images of a reservoir of hot, partly molten rock about 19 to 45 km (12 to 28 miles) beneath the Yellowstone supervolcano, and it is 4.4 times larger than the shallower, long-known magma chamber.
The hot rock in the newly discovered, deeper magma reservoir would fill the 1 000-cubic-mile Grand Canyon 11.2 times, while the previously known magma chamber would fill the Grand Canyon 2.5 times, says postdoctoral researcher Jamie Farrell, a co-author of the study published yesterday in the journal Science.
“For the first time, we have imaged the continuous volcanic plumbing system under Yellowstone,” says first author Hsin-Hua Huang, also a postdoctoral researcher in geology and geophysics. “That includes the upper crustal magma chamber we have seen previously plus a lower crustal magma reservoir that has never been imaged before and that connects the upper chamber to the Yellowstone hotspot plume below.”
