We spend so much of our time trying to avoid pain at all costs. We have this little voice in our head that says “I shouldn’t have to feel pain,” or “Pain is wrong, suffering is not where I want to be, so I will distract myself in any way possible from actually having to feel any sort of suffering.”

We have judged pain and suffering as an indication that there is something wrong with us. And because we view pain as something that needs to be avoided and fought against, when it shows up in our lives we resist it by trying to deny it, or we avoid it by distracting ourselves with things like addictions, or buying more stuff, or focusing on the lives of others in order to not have to focus on our own.

Believe it or not, people have protested the mass medication of the public through drinking water all along. The fluoride in tap water – although touted as healthy and safe – is nothing more than the “legal” unregulated way for chemical companies to unload their waste. And we pay for that privilege.

NASA has successfully tested a new space drive that doesn’t use a propellant and shouldn’t work, at least according to the laws of physics, according to a story that broke in Wired.UK. The drive, called the Cannae Drive, worked in the NASA directed test, defying physics.

The Cannae Drive is based on the work of Roger Shawyer, a British scientist, who conceived what’s called the EMDrive. It works by bouncing microwaves in an enclosed chamber, thus creating thrust. Shawyer was never able to get anyone interested in his device, despite numerous demonstrations. His critics simply rejected the device entirely, pointing out that it violates the conservation of motion.

The Chinese quietly tested their own version of the EMDrive at up to 72 grams of thrust, which is enough to be a satellite thruster. This device has not yet been reported on in too many places and few believed it to be possible.

Consumer oriented mindset always pushes us for external solutions to our problems in life, especially when it concerns our health. Most people are still searching outside for “panacea”, “fountain of youth” or a “magic pill”. Everyone wants to be free from the constraints that problems with health can create. However, not many people are actually ready to trust their own self, their own brain and heart to find the true causes to those problems.

Any human being is a very complicated living system beyond just the material level...

I will tell you how to focus when it is hard for you to focus. I will give you a big secret to the Art of Focusing on what you don’t really want to focus on and yet it has to be done. Or, you may even have a project you really do want to do, to start knitting a sweater, for example. You have a good time picking out a pattern, the yarn you want, the color you want and so on, and, yet, somehow you can’t get yourself to start knitting the sweater.
 
Perhaps you find yourself putting off filling out an income tax form, or you have to write an essay for school, or you have to clean out a closet.  You just haven’t been able to make yourself stay with it. You find something to distract you. You amble away from it. For whatever reason, the project looms large before you. If your project would have been to pick up your winnings from the lottery, you would have had the energy to toddle yourself over to pick it up or whatever a person has to do to receive the winnings.
 
You might really want to get your hands on straightening out that closet, and yet you find you just can’t seem to get to the point where you start. It’s possible you are thinking it’s a big task. You might surprise yourself and find it doesn’t even take an hour. Many tasks, when you get down to it, may not take as long as you may have thought.
