“Crazy wisdom is the philosophical worldview that recommends swimming against the tide, cheerfully seizing the short end of the stick, embracing insecurity, honoring paradox, courting the unexpected, celebrating the unfamiliar, shunning orthodoxy, volunteering for tasks nobody else wants or dares to do, and breaking taboos in order to destroy their power. It’s the wisdom of those who turn the tables on despair by lampooning it, and who neither seek authority nor submit to it. To enlarge the soul, light up the brain, and liberate the spirit.” –Tom Robbins

Do you ever feel like the little rebel inside you is being suppressed. Or that your inner revolutionary has been fooled into thinking that there’s no need for revolution...

Moods Are Moody. Go by God.

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Fri, 10/10/2014 - 18:05

Consider the varying seasons of your heart to be irrelevant. Seasons change. Moods change. Your moods do not have the say of you. Moods are not the bosses of the world. You do not have to kowtow to your moods. Moods are insignificant. Moods seem to come from how the winds blow. Moods are not to be the making of you. First of all, moods are not dependable. You can’t count on them. They come and go. You cannot take moods seriously. Moods are passing things. They really are not so high and mighty as they would have you believe. Moods are shifting sand. They are not meant to lead your life.

Not only do you not have to bow down to your moods, it also makes no sense to. Moods are like two-year olds. They must not lead you. They may well lead you astray. Anyway, moods are not reliable. Unreliable is the very nature of moods.

Moods may feel emotional and physical, as if they descend on you. Nevertheless, moods come from your thoughts. Something signals your moods. Your moods do not have to be in the forefront of your life. Put them in the back seat, or return them altogether. You owe them no loyalty. Moods deserve their comeuppance. Moods are not really a part of you. They are more like hitchhikers, freeloaders, vagrants looking for somewhere to latch onto. There is no need for you to cooperate with moods. They are chameleons. They simply cannot be taken at their word. Moods are slippery-slidey things.

How to Find Yourself through Your Perception of Others

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Fri, 10/10/2014 - 17:07

Recognizing Our Self in Others

“We meet ourselves time and time again in a thousand disguises on the path of life” –Carl Jung

If we take any random person then pick five people in their life and interview them about said person we are bound to hear five different perceptions about them. One person may perceive them as funny, kind and warm-hearted while another person may see them as irresponsible, immature, and unintelligent. So whose perception is the correct one?

One of the biggest key in the path of self-awareness is the knowledge that our perception of others has nothing to do with them and everything to do with us. We literally concoct our own perception about people that we meet based on our own relationship with ourselves and our own personality traits. The ego, fearing attention being brought to it, tends to always look outside of ...

6 Health Benefits Of Watermelon Worth Taking Advantage Of

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Fri, 10/10/2014 - 14:49

I love watermelon, whether it’s a refreshing snack in the summer or filling food in the winter. It’s also rich in nutrients and vitamins and incredibly good for your health. It’s a great source of carbohydrates, protein, fiber, and Vitamins A, B, and C, plus a great source of potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorous. All in a melon; who’d have thought? There are a lot of other benefits too.

  1. Watermelon controls high blood pressure. Potassium and magnesium work together in the body to maintain overall cardiovascular health.
  2. Watermelon can reduce body fat. It’s low in calories but incredibly filling, which aids in weight loss. It also contains no fat or cholesterol.
  3. Watermelon effectively hydrates the body. The melon is 90% fruit, after all.
  4. Vitamin A, which is abundant in watermelon, helps maintain eye health and in conjunction with Vitamin C, lutei...

Results of world's largest Near Death Experiences study published

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Fri, 10/10/2014 - 11:30

Recollections in relation to death, so-called out-of-body experiences (OBEs) or near-death experiences (NDEs), are an often spoken about phenomenon which have frequently been considered hallucinatory or illusory in nature; however, objective studies on these experiences are limited.

In 2008, a large-scale study involving 2060 patients from 15 hospitals in the United Kingdom, United States and Austria was launched. The AWARE (AWAreness during REsuscitation) study, sponsored by the University of Southampton in the UK, examined the broad range of mental experiences in relation to death. Researchers also tested the validity of conscious experiences using objective markers for the first time in a large study to determine whether claims of awareness compatible with out-of-body experiences correspond with real or hallucinatory events.

Results of the study have been published in the journal Resuscitation and are now available online. The study concludes...

Mother, May I?

Release the need to ask permission for your own spiritual growth.  It is not necessary to “check in” with friends, relatives, loved ones or significant others.  Yes, an additional set of eyes can be helpful on occasion, however, if you have to ask before you make any move you are not allowing the process to happen naturally. It is time to start trusting your soul.  The Universe gifted you with the wonderful ability to just know when it is time to move forward……start listening! ~ Creator

NuSTAR discovers first ultraluminous pulsar, impossibly bright dead star

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Fri, 10/10/2014 - 10:26

Astronomers working with NASA's Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuSTAR) have found a pulsating dead star beaming with the energy of about 10 million suns. The object, previously thought to be a black hole because it is so powerful, is in fact a pulsar - the incredibly dense rotating remains of a star. It is located in the a relatively nearby galaxy known as Messier 82 (M82), or the Cigar Galaxy, and is the first ultraluminous pulsar ever detected.

Dom Walton, a postdoctoral scholar at Caltech who works with NuSTAR data, says that with its extreme energy, this pulsar takes the top prize in the weirdness category. Pulsars are typically between one and two times the mass of the sun. This new pulsar presumably falls in that same range but shines about 100 times brighter than theory suggests something of its mass should be able to.

Besides being weird, the finding will help scientists better understand a class of very bright X-ray sources, called ultraluminous X-ray sources (ULXs).

9 Reasons to Think Twice Before Taking Antibiotics Ever Again

A study published by Mayo Clinic found that almost 70% of Americans are on at least one pharmaceutical; antibiotics top the list, followed by antidepressants, and opioid pain killers. This is a problem in of itself, as it the United States has transformed into a pill-popping, medication-dependent nation. What’s worse is that antibiotics in particular are doled out in copious, unnecessary amounts, so much so that bacteria are developing major resistance to this ...

The Effects Of Fluoride On The Pineal Gland

the-effects-of-fluoride-on-the-pineal-gland

In the 1990s, a British scientist, Jennifer Luke, discovered that fluoride accumulates to strikingly high levels in the pineal gland. (Luke 2001). The pineal gland is located between the two hemispheres of the brain and is responsible for the synthesis and secretion of the hormone melatonin. Melatonin maintains the body’s circadian rhythm (sleep-wake cycle), regulates the onset of puberty in females, and helps protect the body from cell damage caused by free radicals.

While it is not yet known if fluoride accumulation affects pineal gland function, preliminary animal experiments found that fluoride reduced melatonin levels and shortened the time to puberty. (Luke, 1997). Based on this and other evidence, the National Research Council has stated that “fluoride is likely to cause de...
