Solar Powered Floating Home Generates A Full Year’s Power in 6 Months
The Floatwing is an off-grid floating habitat that utilizes solar panels to achieve energy independence for 6 months out of the year. With the right batteries installed (think Tesla’s Powerwall), it can harvest and store enough electricity for the entire year.
Designed by the Portuguese design firm Friday, the modular boat comes in multiple sizes with an array of sustainability tools to install.
The boat is 6 meters in width, but can be anywhere from 10-18 meters in length, depending on if it has 0, 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms. The entire piece can be shipped nearly anywhere in the world and fits into two shipping containers.
The Top 8 ‘Paranormal’ Scientific Studies & What We Can Learn From Them
If you google “parapsychology,” the first thing that will probably pop up is a Wikipedia entry loosely (and, in my opinion, rather offensively) defining it as a “pseudoscience.” This is unfortunate, because it distracts the reader from realizing that psychical research, also known as ‘psi’ (or parapsychology), is practiced by various scientists and reputable institutions all over the world. This includes the study of paranormal activity and extended human human capacities like precognition and telepathy, among other things. As the University of Calgary points out, parapsychology is an interdisciplinary field which has attracted physicists, engineers, biologists, psychologists, and researchers in other sciences as well.
The Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research (PEAR) project is a great example of this comprehensive approach to the subject — a project that ran from 1979 until 2007, it aimed to examine if there was factual basis for theories in mind/matter interaction, or extrasensory perception (ESP). Highly significant statistical deviation, far beyond what one could expect from chance, was seen there. Another example would be the University of Virginia’s Division of Perceptual Studies, in which they explore such phenomena as reincarnation, near death experiences (NDEs), and out of body experiences (OBEs).
7 Ways To Live A More Mindful & Fulfilling Life
Life is riddled with distractions and standards that lead us further into inaction. We seek media and technology as a means to escape the reality of our lives, yet that “place” is the greatest illusion created by man. It has been manufactured to promote our mindlessness and satiate our desires by perpetuating ideals, concepts, and advertising. This is warping our perspective and removing us further from our true nature by eliminating nature, entirely. This is because nature is the greatest conduit to understanding our divinity.
The further we distance ourselves from the laws of the natural world, the more we lose the natural understanding of our being. This allows us to get lost in the material world and allow our ego to guide us in trying to fill a void which cannot be filled. The natural world allows us to fill our hearts with joy, happiness, and love, all of which are experienced through moments that dissolve time and become imprinted in our memories for the rest of our lives. Yet, how do we change our perspective to allow us to see the magic of the natural world? How do we awaken ourselves to the divinity that may have been dormant within us? This has a lot to do with pattern recognition and understanding the traits that represent “divinity.”

Why Taking On Another Person’s Problem Is Bad For THEIR Health
By Lynn Newman
Guest Writer for Wake Up World
Confession time: I used to think it was my job to take on other people’s problems — especially in my closest relationships.
Quite honestly? I did it to feel better about myself. But every single time I tried to fix or help, I ended up pushing those I loved away rather than creating the closeness I craved.
They were like: “Hey, I’m a big boy/girl! I know how to take care of this myself!”
And then I was like: “You know what? You DO have you own inner resources to take care of you. WHY was I making this about myself?”
As a creative, empathetic, feeling and intuitive being, I can “feel” the people around me, especially those I care about and love the most. It’s hard for me not to get involved.
Fruits and Vegetables Reaching an Alarming State of Nutrient Depletion
Marco Torres, Prevent Disease
Waking Times
What if our food has been getting less and less nutritious? What if modern intensive farming methods — many of which solved malnutrition problems when they were first introduced — have affected the mineral and vitamin content of what we eat? Could having a constant supply of varied produce and introducing genetically modified foods be compromising nature’s goodness?
Whether it be vegan, low carb, paleo, or any other diet, the quest for the healthiest method of eating shows no sign of abating, yet all have considerable controversy. We know more than ever about what food does to the body and the importance of antioxidants, healthy fats and a low glycaemic index.
Things have changed so much since the wisdom of our ancestors was lost or ignored. Wild dandelions, once a springtime treat for Native Americans, have seven times more phytonutrients than spinach, which we consider a “superfood.” A purple potato native to Peru has 28 times more cancer-fighting anthocyanins than common russet potatoes. One species of apple has a staggering 100 times more phytonutrients than the Golden Delicious displayed in our supermarkets.
