We sometimes tend to think of “enlightenment” as an uplifting, satisfying, and enjoyable process.  What could be more blissful and fun than waking up to your authentic self?  Awakening is one of the most exciting processes you could be a part of in life.

But the truth is, there are many many steps down the road to enlightenment that many people don’t want to take.  Why? Because they are painful, threatening, or depressing.  Not to mention, they can be incredibly scary.  Sometimes, becoming the greatest version of yourself requires you to do things that you have nothing but pure resistance for.

The goal of this article is to inspire people to take a look inside themselves and see if there are any crucial steps that need to be taken for the good of the evolution of their soul.  I still struggle with these things myself on a daily basis, so I know what it is like to resist the things which will benefit the soul the most.

Are you inviting limitations? Have you ever noticed how the more negative you get, the more difficult everything about your life becomes, including being able to do the simplest things? It’s like suddenly sinking into dark molasses, where not only can’t you move, but everything you don’t want seems stuck to you!

To the spiritually uninitiated, it feels as if you’ve been dropped into a river of resistance but, in truth, you are being pulled into it by a lower level of self that wants you to look at whatever challenges you in life as an adversary. Its attempt at deception – to negatively alter your perception – is the only power it has to keep you from seeing unwanted moments as they are in reality: an invitation from the Divine to outgrow your present limitations. Regardless the nature of the trial set before you, it asks: “Would you like to live in a larger world, one without fear? Do you want to be less worried, or angry, and more at peace with yourself?”

Children are beautiful creatures; they are raw, brutal, compassionate and deserve a lot more credit! They operate entirely from their emotional body, using feelings as their guidance system. Their connection to Source, their overpowering imagination and surreal way of thinking is something that seems to dissipate into the design of society.

As we grow from children to adults, if we stayed in our emotional bodies, our world would operate based on feeling rather than hard logic. It would be fantastical, nonsensical and literally magical. Our belief systems would have stayed open throughout our development and the idea of impossibility would not exist.

Children that are considered old souls are those here with a purpose to spread their timeless wisdom through a newly born vessel. There’s something so captivating about a child that has brought forth so much information and insight from the other side.
