Scientific Proof That Being Thankful Improves Your Health

On Thanksgiving, people around the United States expressed gratitude for the bounty of their lives, but many may not realize that in doing so, they are also improving the quality of their health and increasing their life expectancies.
The scientific evidence is conclusive when it comes to mood, outlook, and health. Happy people live 7-10 years longer than unhappy people, and optimistic people have a 77% lower risk of heart disease than pessimistic people. But how can you become happier and more optimistic in your world view?

Why Does Ancient Art Contain Depictions Of Flying Aircraft, Helicopters And Dinosaurs?

The history of our planet is far more complex than most people would dare to imagine. According to the commonly accepted version of history that is taught in high schools and colleges all over the United States, ancient man was a very simple creature with extremely limited knowledge. Unfortunately for those that promote this flawed version of history, archaeologists keep digging up stuff that directly contradicts it. The truth is that there is a tremendous amount of evidence of great intellectual achievement in the ancient world. For example, just consider the Great Pyramid of Giza. It is a true technological marvel. It is such a massive structure built with such extraordinary precision...
United Nations Calls For An End To Industrialized Farming
Source: www.truth-out.org | Original Post Date: November 26, 2014 –
In 2013, the United Nations announced that the world’s agricultural needs can be met with localized organic farms. That’s right, we do not need giant monocultures that pour, spray and coat our produce with massive amounts of poisons, only to create mutant pests and weeds while decimating pollinators and harming human health. Don’t believe the hype: We do not need genetically modified foods “to feed the world.”
From my experience, many of these – how shall we say it – “worker bees” (i.e the GMO salesmen) who spread this propaganda, actually believe conventional tactics are necessary to ensure food security. They’ve drunk the Kool-Aid and cannot envision another possibility...
Breaking Through Personal Limits with Conscious Self-Actualisation Groups
By Caroline Diana Bobart
Guest Writer for Wake Up World
There is a mysterious element of order and wisdom that underpins the consciousness and energy of a group that gathers in sacred space.
Often those who are part of such a group will refer to this unseen order and wisdom as “the hand of God”. Another equally valid way to look at it is as a powerful all-knowing force that is unleashed when ‘two or more are gathered’. This universal truth speaks directly to the force that rises as you step away from ego into sacred agreement with others, so the best outcomes possible can come into being.
Of course, when you enter into a group agreement, depending on the nature and purpose of the group, there can be varying degrees of consciousness on the part of the person (if any) leading that group. Of all the types of groups that exist – political, cultural, ethnic, humanitarian, charitable, volunteer, business – this observation relates most closely to conscious ‘self-actualisation’ groups.
The Pretender
The mind seeks an identity grounded in truth and awareness. It lacks the heart to know itself.
There is no permanence to its being, so it fluctuates into forms having no soul, or heart, in them.
Mind is not life, but only a form of antilife forever languishing in being unfulfilled, endlessly searching for truth and meaning.
For observing, analyzing and comparing ideas, mind is good, but it lacks the fullness of becoming those things it seeks.
Namaste.

Nearly 100 Indian women die after being 'forced' into government-run sterilization camps
The relatives of Indian women who died following a state-operated mass sterilization campaign went terribly awry have told local media they were forced by government health workers to attend.
As reported by Britain's The Guardian newspaper, more than 80 women recently underwent surgery for laparoscopic tubectomies at a cost-free government-run camp in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, in the central part of the country. Around 60 of the women became ill following the procedure, officials said, and more than dozen had died, with a dozen more in serious condition.
"The [health workers] said nothing would happen, it was a minor operation. They herded them like cattle," Mahesh Suryavanshi, the brother-in-law of one woman who died, told the Indian Express newspaper.

Some Pointers (and Pitfalls) for Talking With Nature
Essentially, Nature lives and expresses in and from the moment. We people, very, very rarely express in and from the moment. Nature has no choice about this, it cannot leave the conscious moment. We have a lot of choices; we call it free will! Free will… that’s a misnomer if ever I heard one! If you have free will, try being consciously in the moment for one minute. Okay… you failed. Almost certainly, you were thinking! To be consciously in the moment, you must be without thought. Why? You can think your way out of the moment, but you cannot think your way into it. Thoughts take you into the past, or the future, but thought cannot take you into the moment. Nature does not live and express in the past or future; it lives consciously in the eternal moment.
Suddenly, talking with Nature is far more than it appears to be.

The Science and Practice of Gratitude
Besides sharing time with family and friends over food, the primary ingredient of the American Thanksgiving holiday is gratitude. While it’s certainly good to have an annual holiday to remind us to express gratitude, there’s much to be said for the benefits of cultivating the spirit of thankfulness year-round.
People who are thankful for what they have are better able to cope with stress, have more positive emotions, and are better able to reach their goals. Scientists have even noted that gratitude is associated with improved health.

A column of ash and smoke reached about 2 133 meters at 06:00 UTC today and was extending north, according to latest Tokyo VAAC warning. An exclusion zone of 1 km radius around the volcano is in place.
Activity from the Asosan's Nakadake crater has intensified on Tuesday, November 25 when observed ash emissions and comparably strong incandescence suggested a new magmatic eruption could be under way.
