Let go of any sense of guilt or shame.

The Oneness of ALL that exists is the Truth that all must come to an awareness of, and that truth (small “t” because at the moment it tends to be a scientific kind of awareness, a logical awareness uncovered by intellectual effort, and not yet a knowing that comes from your hearts, although that knowing is always available to you because it resides eternally within you.) is beginning to flow into the collective awareness.  It is as though a glacier had started to melt, and as it does so its contents spread out everywhere, soaking all in its path.  And, of course, you are all in its path.  Awareness is flowing and growing all across the world, it cannot remain unknown any longer, it can only be denied.

Nearly all of you, due to the suffering and betrayal that you have experienced over the eons, suffering and betrayal that has been far too painful to acknowledge and remember, have issues to address that you have been in denial about for a very long time.  And for many of you those issues are making their presence very intensely felt right now.  You burst into tears suddenly, and often for no reason that you can identify.  Let the tears flow!  It is a necessary and very effective form of release.

UN Says Small Farms and Organic Practices Can Feed the World

By Dr. Nafeez Ahmed

Governments must shift subsidies and research funding from agro-industrial monoculture to small farmers using ‘agroecological’ methods, according to the UN’s Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food. And as Nafeez Ahmed notes, her call coincides with a new agroecology initiative within the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation.

Modern industrial agricultural methods can no longer feed the world, due to the impacts of overlapping environmental and ecological crises linked to land, water and resource availability.

The stark warning comes from the new United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food, Prof Hilal Elver, in her first public speech since being appointed in June.

“Food policies which do not address the root causes of world hunger would be bound to fail”, she told a packed audience in Amsterdam.

One billion people globally are hungry, she declared, before calling on governments to support a transition to “agricultural democracy” which would empower rural small farmers.

No-Self

In Buddhism one of the ‘Three Characteristics’ is No-Self (the other two are impermanence and suffering which are closely associated with this). This refers to the illusion of reality having a permanent and separate self.

There is this notion that there is a permanent “I” or “me,” which is a separate entity that can be found. The obvious assumption of we are our body sounds good until we look at it and say “this is my body,” which implies at that moment that whatever owns the body wasn’t the body. The observer and the observed; duality denies our body being what we are. It is also in a state of impermanence, and at a sensate level it is made up of energy flickering at a similar rate to reality.

The Theme of Life

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Thu, 11/20/2014 - 17:35

There is Nothingness, yet there is no void. There is potential. From a tiny seed, from the empty center of a tiny seed, comes a beautiful flower.

What is the sweet mystery of life? Life itself is a sweet mystery, and the mystery is unending. There is always more. One thing leads to another. First the tree and its branches. Then leaves, then flowers, then fruit, and then the fruit goes to seed, and the Earth is replenished. There are cycles spinning like bicycle wheels.

The theme of life has to be natural growth.

Everything is provided. What is provided is to be seen and recognized. Life offers Fullness. Look at the humble dandelion. How nature has provided its gossamer seeds that the wind blows. How deep dig the roots of the dandelion. The dandelion roots till the soil. How important and integral is every plant on Earth.

When this is the case, imagine the importance of Human Beings. Human Beings have been granted Free Will. A dandelion has no choice. It has to grow. It is all built-in. There is no departure. A dandelion will grow between two bricks or make its own crack in a wall. Instinct nudges plants to grow. Dandelions don’t question. What assurance and constancy a dandelion has. A dandelion is not fussy at all. Its life is determined. A dandelion is one-pointed. It faces the Sun, and that’s it. It drinks the rain, and a dandelion gives forth its reflection of the Sun. Hello, Dandelion.

Austin, Texas is known for many things – beautiful parks, a thriving tech industry, bustling nightlife, several universities, and of course the live music. It is a fairly forward-thinking and green city, in the center of what’s typically known as a conservative state. Austin has been rated as one of the top 10 green cities by the Mother Nature Network and is home to some very green companies, such as Whole Foods.

What you might not know is that there are about 6000 homeless people living on the streets of Austin.

DIY: How To Raise Chickens. It’s Easy!

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Thu, 11/20/2014 - 16:31

I’ve had chickens for years and argue that they’re easier to take care of than cats, though like with any animal, pet or livestock, there’s some work that goes into making sure they’re set up and have a safe living arrangement. Chickens are low on the food chain, and some local predators might try to get at them. I actually had a falcon attempt to catch one of mine last week. Thwarted, naturally.

When it comes down to it, a lot of store-bought eggs don’t come from farms like this:

But from farms like this...

The Gods of Money

“Let me issue and control a nation’s money and I care not who writes the laws.” – Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1744-1812), founder of the House of Rothschild

Perhaps the single most important thing to know about power in the world today is that most nations do not have control over their own currencies. Instead privately owned, for-profit central banks – such as the Federal Reserve System in the US – create money out of nothing and then loan it at interest to their respective governments. This is an incredibly profitable scam, but that’s not the worst of it.

Not only do the central banks have the power to create money for free, they also have the power to set interest rates, to decide how much credit is issued, and to decide how much money is put into circulation. With this power central banks can – and do – orchestrate boom and bust cycles, enabling the super-wealthy owners of the banks to profit from investments during the booms, and buy up assets at bargain prices during the busts. And that still isn’t the whole story.
