Scientific Links Between Processed Foods and Depression
By Dr. Joseph Mercola

Research shows that the food you eat can have a profound effect on your mental health. So, regardless of your mental health problems, the importance of addressing your diet simply cannot be overstated.
In a very real sense, you have two brains — one in your head, and one in your gut. Both are created from the same tissue during fetal development, and they’re connected via your vagus nerve, the tenth cranial nerve that runs from your brain stem to your abdomen.
It is now well established that the vagus nerve is the primary route your gut bacteria use to transmit information to your brain, which helps explain why mental health appears to be so intricately connected to your gut microbiome 1 — the bacteria and other microbes living in your gut.

Music is Medicine and More Effective Than Drugs at Managing Pain
Joe Battaglia, Prevent Disease
Waking Times
400 published scientific papers have proven the old adage that “music is medicine.” Neurochemical benefits of music can improve the body’s immune system, reduce anxiety levels and help regulate mood in ways that drugs have difficulty competing.
“We’ve found compelling evidence that musical interventions can play a health care role in settings ranging from operating rooms to family clinics,” says Prof. Levitin of McGill University’s Psychology Department. “But even more importantly, we were able to document the neurochemical mechanisms by which music has an effect in four domains: management of mood, stress, immunity and as an aid to social bonding.”

The Top 8 Cooling Spices for Summer
By Dr. Edward Group
Guest Writer for Wake Up World
To keep the body cool during the summer months, ancient Indian medicine (Ayurveda) recommends consuming spices that promote cooling. Spices are one of the most potent plant foods in terms of antioxidants and bioactive compounds, and according to Ayruveda’s 5,000 year old food philosophy, there are plenty of everyday spices that can even help cool the body when outside temperatures become unbearable.
Here are the top 8 cooling spices, according to Ayruveda, to include in your diet to feel fresh and comfortable during the summer heat.
1. Organic Mint
Mint is more than just a remedy for bad breath; in fact, this perennial herb is an excellent cooling spice. Picked fresh, mint makes an excellent heat-busting addition to a summer lemonade or fresh fruit salad. Growing mint in the backyard garden is easy to do; however, mint can become invasive, so it’s always best to plant in containers to avoid competition with neighboring plants.

15 Year Old Treats Chrohn’s Disease With Cannabis & Gets His Life Back
Coltyn Turner, a 15 year old boy who, as a result of his battle with Chrohn’s disease (a severe type of inflammatory bowel disease), was so ill that he had to be confined to a wheelchair, recently testified before the Colorado State Legislature that he’d “rather be illegally alive than legally dead.”
This is because he used cannabis to treat his disease, which is illegal in his home state of Illinois. Simply in order to treat their son with cannabis, his family was forced to re-locate to Colorado.
“He’s a prisoner in the state of Colorado because of medication. Coltyn can’t go, he can’t go back home, he can’t go see his friends, he can’t go see his family, he is stuck in the state of Colorado… He can’t live a normal life in the place where he grew up and the place where he has six generations of family. It’s just tough.” (source)
10 Signs of Spiritual Bypassing and How to Reverse It
If you haven’t heard the term before, a spiritual bypasser is someone who prematurely jumps to the spiritual side of things in order to avoid dealing with their own unresolved emotions, memories and healing.
A spiritual bypasser is someone who hasn’t done the inner work to make their outside their inside and because of this, that persons spirituality manifests itself only externally preventing internal, personal, and authentic growth — such as unconditional love and tolerance for others.
Bypassers can also be viewed as “fanatics”. These are people who fall in love with the idea of spirituality, or the idea of religion without doing any of the real work themselves.

Families Of 9/11 Victims On Verge Of Proving Government Cover Up In Court
SM Gibson
August 10, 2015
(ANTIMEDIA) For many years, rumors have circulated regarding the U.S. government’s involvement in an active cover-up of a sinister connection between Saudi Arabia and the terrorist attacks of 9/11. In fact, 28 redacted pages from a congressional intelligence report are said to contain damning information that implicates the Saudis in the 2001 mass murder of American citizens. Despite a bipartisan effort to release the information, the now notorious 28 pages are still being withheld from the public under the predictable guise of “national security.”
Now, thanks to a federal lawsuit in a Manhattan court, there may be a light at the end of the tunnel.
