Despite strong opposition, on June 24 the US Senate passed the Fast Track bill (known as Trade Promotion Authority or TPA) that gives the President carte blanche to negotiate and finalize free trade deals in complete secrecy, which brings us one step closer to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

The TPP, which appears to be nothing short of a corporate takeover of global powers, has the legal ability to thwart all future attempts at protecting the public from genetically engineered (GE) foods. For this and many other reasons, the TPP must be stopped.

As explained by Ben Beachy and Ben Lilliston in recent interviews, the TPP, which involves the United States and 11 other countries around the Pacific Rim, is a vast expansion of terms already found in the notoriously unpopular North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). If ratified, the TPP will have tremendous ramifications for our health, economy, and environmental protections — not to mention the loss of individual, state, and national rights, as it sets up binding rules that supersede US law.

Many of us are feeling something profound shifting within. For most this transformation process is both exciting and daunting. It is exciting because the more we open and allow this shift to occur the more aware we become of the energy in our environment and how we interact with it. When we tune into the higher frequencies we feel lighter, more fluid and more aligned with the wisdom of our hearts.

However, other effects, some not so comfortable effects, also come into play. On a physical level some of these effects include headaches, nausea, flu-like symptoms, anxiety and many more. These unpleasant aspects of the process have come to be known as ‘ascension symptoms’.

We invite you to think of how wonderful it is when you receive a delightful surprise. The unexpected nature of it makes you feel loved, happy, and cared about, does it not? The fact that you couldn’t imagine it beforehand makes it all the more special.

We encourage you to open yourselves up to great unknown potentials. When you are too specific about your expectations, you can, without even realizing it, limit what the universe can deliver! By staying open to all the expansive and loving offerings of the universe, you make room for so much more to come to you, with far greater ease. You don’t have to stick up for yourself.

In the world, as you imagine it, life demands that you stick up for yourself. It demands that you joust with words, for, as it seems to you, no one has the right to overlook you or insult you or demean you in any way.

You presuppose that what someone says or doesn’t say has the power to demean you. You may be quick to give away your own God-given power.

You may say to yourself: “This time I will stick up for myself.”

When you stick up for yourself, you think you are saying: “You must not affront me. You have no right to affront me.” Just so, you have given the seeming other the right. You just handed it to him as you say, “Look, you have affronted me.”

I don’t tell you to be a mouse. I am telling you that it is a mouse that squeaks. The seeming other does not have to get a rise out of you. You do not have to give away your sacred power. You do not have to give your sacred power over to anyone. Even if you are in prison, you can keep your Power to yourself in Silence.

Do you fear that being silent is acquiescing? Being silent holds a great deal of power. Or, you can respond, “Of course.” Okay means: “Okay, let’s go on with life.”

I have a beautiful god-daughter who I think is one of the smartest, sweetest, most beautiful kids on the planet. After minding her I have a further appreciation of sleep and for all parents out there. Kids are wonderful teachers as they can see a world filled with joy and opportunities. I think we could all benefit from having such beliefs.

Below are some of things I have learned from her and other children, they are all adding light to an often dark and cynical world.

1. The world is an amazing place. With fresh eyes we can appreciate so much more around us. Helicopters and airplanes are a marvel. Our imagination is an incredible tool that we rarely use for good. Every morning is a gift and we should all wake up as excited as a child because it means a new day full of possibility.
