Around 865 000 people have been evacuated from the coastal areas of Zhejiang province, China ahead of Typhoon "Chan-hom" landfall.  The typhoon is expected to hit land Saturday afternoon between the coastal cities of Rui’an and Zhoushan, south of Shanghai. Chinese Meteorological Administration has issued a red warning for the province.

Authorities have also ordered 28 764 ships back to ports, canceled all flights into and out of Zhoushan along with 400 flights elsewhere in the region. More than 100 trains between the region's cities are not operating.

During the last 24 hours, Chan-hom has been moving in the East China Sea in a NW direction, causing 20 injuries in southern Japanese islands, and reached Chinese coastal areas close to Ningbo (Zhejiang province) as of 00:00 UTC on July 11.

The Tide Has Turned

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Fri, 07/10/2015 - 19:59

God said:

There is a small distance, if distance at all, between exquisite beauty and exquisite agony. There is a meeting point where ecstasy is ecstasy regardless of the seeming cause. Both beauty and agony cut your heart up at this meeting place in which your heart beats or throbs or bellows or cries out: “It is too much for me to be joined to everyone and everything.”

The depth of bliss and the depth of pain seem to be the same to you. Exquisite bliss and exquisite pain hurt My beautiful children equally. You do not know where to find the shore.

Yet I, the God of Oneness, know no pain. There is no place for pain in My Heart of Wholeness. My heart is wedded to bliss and knows not the side you delve into. There is no darkness in My heart. Oneness is so deep it leaves no room for anything but the deepest joy accountable or not.

Yet you may well leave unfilled space in your heart and find great sorrow, wrenches of sorrow, sense of loss of joy as if joy can be tarred and quartered. Your heart aches by whatever name the ache is known. In the greatest joy, you experience the haunting of subtraction even as Oneness is. Oneness may wrench your heart when you are just verging on the Joy of Oneness -- this is the real story. Oneness seems to burst your heart open, and your heart cries for mercy. Such great joy is a heart-breaker until you get used to it.

ADHD Does Not Exist: Why French Children Don’t Have ADHD

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Fri, 07/10/2015 - 16:29

Take this in:

In the United States alone, at least 9 percent of kids are diagnosed with ADHD and are being treated with different kinds of pharmaceutical medications. The design of our school system is horribly outdated and provides little benefit in comparison to how transformative it could truly be.

Imagine schools like this, which funnily enough James Cameron created; that allow you to create whatever you want.

Your teachers should be in support of what you want to do in life. Classrooms should be outside or at least in different, stimulating places.

Children should not be forced to sit in class rooms every day – it is completely keeping them from understanding their full potential.

This education system is in place for a very specific reason, and it’s all connected to the pharmaceutical and governmental systems.

Now, the percentage of children with ADHD in France is dramatically less at less than .5 percent.

So what is going on here?

What is Mindfulness? What are the Benefits? + How To + Meditation Technique

What is mindfulness and what are the benefits
Mindfulness is simply being in the present moment and observing it. It's paying attention, non-judgementally, to your thoughts, sensations and emotions that are arising right now. Mindfulness has become mainstream today due to it's simple methodology and amazing effects, it is in-fact an adaptation from ancient Buddhist meditation practices such as Vipassana.

Why Do We Need Mindfulness?
We will walk up a hill preoccupied with getting to the top, all the while ignoring the beautiful view on the way.

Harvard University research has shown that people spend about 47 percent of their waking hours thinking about something other than what they’re doing (Harvard Gazette). This means that all the while we're doing the things we do in life, our minds are very often elsewhere, not observing the present moment.

Where does inspiration come from?

Can we set ourselves up to attract more inspiration into our lives?

Looking for inspiration can be a challenge. Inspiration comes in waves; it ebbs and flows. It remains a mystery to me. Doing the same things may, or may not, inspire us.

Quantum Mechanics and the End of Materialism

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Fri, 07/10/2015 - 12:19

Many people consider the advent of quantum mechanics as the single biggest achievement in science. And there is good reason to believe that since it has revamped our view of the world in a drastic manner. An example in point would be the non-materialistic view of Earth.

Since the inception of the scientific method, the world has been viewed as consisting of tangible things – a cluster of three dimensional bodies. However, the study of quantum mechanics led us to believe that the world is nothing but a wave of material possibilities that manifest before our eyes. In short, we observe our reality and that it doesn’t exist in a predefined, materialistic manner.

Satori – The Zen Concept of Enlightenment and Self-realisation

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Fri, 07/10/2015 - 09:26

Zen satori

“You and I sip a cup of tea. That act is apparently alike to us both, but who can tell what a wide gap there is subjectively between your drinking and my drinking? In your drinking there may be no Zen, while mine is brim-full of it. The reason for it is : you move in a logical circle and I am out of it.” ~ Introduction-Zen-Buddhism, D.T. Suzuki

In Zen Buddhism, Satori is ‘a glimpse of truth’ or a sudden moment of awakening. Unlike what many believe, Satori is just a natural state of human mind, which is lost in the pursuit of materialistic desires and following the status quo. We, as souls, are infinite beings of light and live in the present moment, connected to cosmos at all times. But with everyday, mundane complications, we tend to lose our natural state of being i.e. Satori.

Former Senator: American Youth Need To Revolt Against Corrupted Government

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Fri, 07/10/2015 - 09:08

Gary Hart, the former senator from Colorado who twice sought the presidency in the 1980s, made a fervent plea for American youth to summon the courage necessary to revolt against the hopelessly corrupt government:

“The question is: by adhering to the highest principles and ideals, will America continue to have the moral authority to lead all people of goodwill? The answer remains to be seen. And that answer will have much to do with whether we have the courage to drive the money changers from the temple of democracy and recapture the government of the people, for the people, and by the people.”

Hart’s impassioned plea to wipe the slate clean, published in Time, was part of a scathing essay on the current United States government’s categorical departure from the lofty populist roots of its birth. Describing the corruption as so thoroughly interwoven that nothing shy of a gutting could affect any improvement, Hart disparaged Congress and the President alike for the hypocrisy of malfeasance come to law.
