We all know the difference between good vibes and bad vibes, but what is really happening at a scientific level when we talk about “vibes”?  Or what about when we know someone is a bad person and can feel it in our gut, only to later find out that they are abusive and manipulative?  While there is an energetic and spiritual side to this question, there is also a hard scientific explanation of what is occurring when we tap into the vibes of other people.   With the development of new scientific instruments, intuition is now something being studied using the scientific method.

The electromagnetic field of the heart

The heart generates a powerful and measurable electromagnetic field.  Magnetocardiography is the science of measure the field that is produced by the electrical activity within the heart.  It’s mainstream scientific knowledge that the resonant frequencies of the field of your heart interacts with the fields of others around you.  This effect is super strong within the first several feet in particular, but has been reported to be measured even at a distance of hundreds of meters.

It has been over four years since the 9.0 magnitude Tōhoku earthquake and ensuing catastrophic tsunami leveled the Pacific coast of Japan, setting off a nuclear meltdown at the Fukushima Daichi power plant. Radiation has pouring into the ocean, into the earth below, and into the air for over 1500 days now and there is still zero sense of urgency on the part of the government and world leaders to seriously address this blooming catastrophe. All efforts to stop the meltdown and clean up the radiation have been left in the hands of TEPCO, Japan’s energy company that has been proven time and again to be inept and unprepared to confront a disaster of this sort.

The mainstream media, for its part, is appears to be complicit in a cover-up of the effects that Fukushima radiation is already having on our environment and on human and animal health, and instead insists on omitting most news on the matter, or seriously dumbing down reports of the fallout.

I have to admit, when I first saw Brand’s humour back in the day I wasn’t a fan, and even to this day he’s not really my cup of tea. But his transformation as a person has been amazing to watch and I respect him deeply for using his popularity to share important messages with people of the world. This latest video of his experience visiting an Indian slum is another great example of his consciousness.

He draws attention to “a higher code,” or a deeper understanding humans have beyond all the identities the ego latches onto. He speaks humbly about how even his desire to buy sweets for the children of the slum was still in some way derived from ego, and other similar realizations. These are powerful lessons that we would all benefit from hearing and engaging with on a daily basis.

Venus/Jupiter are together in the skies right now. It's the perfect time to open yourself up to the possibility of Receiving something that would truly nourish your body, heart and soul.

What a sight in the sky the other night: clear twilight blue, Full Moon Rising in Capricorn to the left of us, and Venus next to Jupiter in the constellation of Leo to the right of us. Nights like this remind everyone who chooses to look up that we are part of something so much bigger than us. These planets, and this Earth, have been here long before us, and will be here long after.

I am reminded of this constantly as we drive through this part of the US that I love so much with real life faces in the rocks staring off into the distance. The stories they could tell!
