11 Quotes From Buddha That Will Ease Your Soul
“The way is not in the sky. The way is in the heart.”
The teachings of many of history’s religious and philosophical figures are timeless, but are often mistakenly taken at face value. It’s easy to slap a quote on an image or a t-shirt and pass it around, but it takes deliberate thought to actually internalize the true meaning behind the words, and often these quick philosophical ‘bytes’ are passed over too quickly for this to happen.
It’s easy for us in this day and age to be “spiritual” by identity and pass it off well without ever truly living spiritually — without recognizing and benefitting from what we can learn from having a spiritual relationship with ourselves and this world. Because of that, it’s common to come across a great deal of logical spiritualists and fake ‘new-agey’ type personalities that don’t truly live the core of what these great teachers have shared.
So I wanted to share my own perspective on the true meaning behind some of these quotes.
“Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship.”

A Taste Of Soulful Connections Beyond Generations
In most modern conventional belief the notion of a “Soul,” if considered at all, is seen as a timeless nonmaterial property of a human being. New Age thinking generally talks about the soul expressing or manifesting throughout one’s life, and then one returning to an ethereal soul state upon death.
In this context no effort is required or sought and everything simply happens at it should—“everything happens for a reason.” This is often tied to Eastern concepts of great cycles and it is thought that simple acceptance of “what is” is sufficient for a life well lived.
Then the more motivationally minded of New Age philosophers tend to suggest that “alignment” with the needs of a soul will lead to greater achievement, but in modern material terms. Books like “The Secret” provide a roadmap for “success” in worldly terms based on a belief that there is a Soul (or sole?) purpose that leads to abundance – but this abundance is generally seen in terms of productivity or material success.

Why Truth is Always New
Christina Sarich, Contributor
Waking Times
“. . . It is the mind which wants to make the experience which it calls truth continuous, and such a mind shall not know truth. Truth is always new: it is to see the same smile and see that smile newly, to see the same person and see that person anew, to see the waving palms anew, to meet life anew. . .” ~ J. Krishnamurti
What creates a mind that can see things anew? Not the stale, crusty, crumbs of ‘truth’ that have mold around the edges, causing us to see reality in a fractured, disintegrating, purely entropic way, but a truth that shines with life and newness like a spring bud bursting from its yellow-green casing?
What allows a radical new theory – like a black hole devouring stars from the inside to create dark matter – to take hold of a scientist’s mind to help explain the origins of gamma-ray bursts, or the study of something as simple as a string of RNA blossom in a curious head so that the boundaries between biology and chemistry start to dissolve? Or even a mind simple and new enough to see the world as it is and not how we wish it could be?

The National Cancer Institute recently released its report on medical marijuana. The overview of their conclusion is, THC (the active ingredient in marijuana) caused a 45 percent reduction in bladder cancer, remission in breast and liver cancer and more.
They have determined that there is no lethal dose of marijuana. And addictive potential is considerably lower than any other medicine available.
Among their findings, they have found that cannabis is not associated with adverse pulmonary function and does not cause lung cancer or any aerodigestive tract cancers. Cannabis does not cause other types of cancer either.
They found cannabis has great anti-tumoral activity. Through their testing they have determined that cannabis is more effective than conventional antiemetics (drugs that ease nausea). And inhaled marijuana was more effective in chemo-induced nausea than any other currently available treatment.

Another Pharmaceutical CEO is stepping up to challenge Martin Shkreli as world’s most hated man.
Last month, Martin Shkreli became a household name. The CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals is now infamous for raising the price of a newly-acquired drug to $750 a pill. He also explained in an interview that his company was not alone in acquiring drugs currently on the market to raise their price and, in turn, rapidly drive up their stock price.
Enter J. Michael Pearson, The current CEO of Valeant Pharmaceuticals who recently said that his company’s responsibility is to it’s shareholders, while making no mention of his customers who rely on his drugs to live.
