There is no long-time ago. There is no past, for there is no time. Yet time is big in the world. Time beats the gongs. Imagined time on Earth was measured by the metronomes from the days when ships were rowed across the seas. Imagine all the energy put into oars across the oceans and the mighty waves at the expanse of sea.

Time has you rowing hard across its might. O! the energy you put into racing against time. Time isn’t real, yet it calls forth a lot o’ energy from you. From the moment you rise, time has you in its thrall. It’s good you can slip away from time with sleep. Of course, there is really no time clock that has you under its thumb. Illusion has you under its thumb.

Time rules your day with a snap of the whip. Everyone pays attention to time. Time and the hurrying and deadlines whip you into submission. Time is King.

Somehow, out in the world, you are at time’s mercy. Amidst all the running around, you seemingly age when the Truth is that you are ageless and timeless. Infinity doesn’t stop to the beat of time. Infinity is beyond time. You are beyond time, only in the world, you are locked into it. It is like time is your rite of passage.

Have you ever wondered what it means to live in the present? Aren’t we all here, now, in the present?

Well yes, beautiful soul, but for so many of us, we are only 10% here.

We are really living in our minds. We exist from day-to-day in a dream-like state where we’re not really connected to the world around us, nor centered in our own body or being.

Instead, we’re preoccupied with memories of the past, churning thoughts and worries about the future, and judgments and reactions to the few things we do see. Or perhaps we are lost in our smartphones and television sets.

We’re literally missing out on most our own lives, which leaves us feeling shallow, empty and deeply unsettled.

The great news is, you can learn to be more present and mindful!

When Tiny is Huge: How a Family Produces 6,000 Pounds of Food in Their Back Yard

Just 30 minutes north of Los Angeles in the burbs of Pasadena, California, is a burgeoning tiny farm tucked snugly between three major freeways. For the last decade, the Dervaes family has proven the impossible dream can come true and happily shares the trials and tribulations of their Urban Homestead with the world. Using Laura Ingalls Wilders’ autobiographical Little House children’s stories as a sweet-dream lifestyle, their chosen model for sustainable self-sufficiency is now dubbed: Little Homestead in the City.

The family of four raises more than 350 varieties of fruit, veggies, herbs, and berries on 1/10 of an acre, which translates to a 66′ x 66′ garden space. The tiny farm is also abuzz with bees making honey, while chickens and ducks lay eggs and lend their considerable skills to insect control. Other animals share the farm but are safe since the family has a vegetarian palette.

Everything is fake in our society today – or at least a great many things are. Our world is filled with an extraordinary amount of lies, deception, disinformation, misinformation, fakery, fraud, facades, mirages, propaganda and brainwashing. The good thing though is that once you awaken to the deception, you can use it as a tool for raising your consciousness. I think it’s safe to say that spirituality is indeed a good thing. The problem is that some people can enter the spiritual world with a pre conceived misconception that it is going to be an all-round positive experience.

Spirituality is not one thing and can be expressed in multiple ways. Some will find enlightenment through their work, others through religion, others through spiritual practice like mediation and yoga, others through the use of psychedelics and others by just expressing themselves in a positive way through kindness, compassion and love. No matter how you find the spirit within you, there is no right way of doing it.

What is spirituality? Spirituality is a very misunderstood term, some equate it to religion and while it can be related it is not an exclusively religious thing. The spirit is the essence of a person, that elusive thing within us that makes us naturally behave in certain ways. When the mind is quite and all is peaceful all that’s left is the spirit.
