Changing Perspectives: Choose to View Life Through a Different Lens

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Thu, 01/22/2015 - 09:32

“Your opinion is your opinion, your perception is your perception–do not confuse them with ‘facts’ or ‘truth.’ Wars have been fought and millions have been killed because of the inability of men to understand the idea that everybody has a different viewpoint.” -John Moore

There is only one thing we truly own while we are here on Earth. One thing that can never be taken from us and that we carry with us every single place we go every day of our lives. This thing is our perception. Our perception is completely unique to us. No one ever, anywhere, will ever have the exact same perception of reality as we do because there is no two people whose lives have been exactly the same.

The way we were raised, the culture we grew up in, the relationship we had with our parents and siblings and the types of music, books and movies we have been exposed to, all play a part in forming our perception. Our perception changes naturally over time. The perspective we had on life at 10 years old is completely different than the one we have at 25 years old. If we are lucky, at a certain point in our conscious evolution comes a shocking discovery… our perception does NOT equal truth.

Research published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease has found that tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) could be a potential therapeutic treatment option for seniors with Alzheimer’s disease through multiple functions and pathways. Interestingly, findings also indicate that cannabis isn’t only effective in the treatment, but also the prevention of Alzheimer’s.

Scientists at the University of Southern Florida conducted their study by giving one group of rats a constant dose of a cannabis derivative for three consecutive weeks and nothing to a second group of rats. Follow-up memory tests conducted on the rats indicated the treated rats did better than the control rats in learning and remembering how to locate the concealed platform. The results indicate cannabis may be effective in preventing memory loss.

New Study: Alzheimer’s & Aluminum Link Can No Longer Be Ignored

Aluminum has been long known to be neurotoxic, with mounting evidence that chronic exposure is a factor in many neurological diseases, including dementia, autism, and Parkinson’s disease.

However, definitive scientific proof is difficult to establish due to the the lack of longitudinal studies, as well as pushback from industries that use aluminum in their products. Despite the shortage of conclusive studies, mounting scientific evidence leaves little room for doubt.

Case in point: a new case study from Keele University in the UK unequivocally shows high levels of aluminum in the brain of an individual exposed to aluminum at work, who later died from Alzheimer’s disease.

Daily Message ~ Thursday January 22, 2015

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Thu, 01/22/2015 - 09:15

When you were a young child you would dream and create without fear. Your brain simply didn’t know how to worry or play out negative scenarios. You simply focused on the pure essence of what you wished to experience and went for it. Your operating system was one of focused intention and movement, all based on what interested you or brought you satisfaction, adventure, comfort, or joy.

The universe does not deal with negatives either. It only responds to the essence of your focus.

Do you see what this means? You have been trained to become negatively focused! This has come from well-meaning parents and caretakers who were concerned about your safety. They sought to ensure your well-being by instilling fear in you. Perhaps they experienced lack and struggle in their lives so they taught you to expect that so that you wouldn’t be disappointed. What a strange lesson! Expect the world to be a harsh place so you won’t be disappointed!

What we are trying to show you is that negative focus is not your natural state of being. It is a conditioning, and one that, if you allow yourself to connect with your purest essence, is not in line with who you are.

Being positive and focused on the essence of what you wish to experience is your natural instinct. Take a moment to consider your ideas and inspirations. More often than not, your first response is one that is positively focused and then, seconds later, the conditioning hits and all the fears and doubts start to flood in.

19 Powerful Life Lessons From Bruce Lee

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Thu, 01/22/2015 - 09:08

Many people know of Bruce Lee from his wide achievements in film and martial arts. Born in the United States, Bruce Lee’s family hailed from Hong Kong. Bruce Lee lived in both countries throughout his life, and was a student of nearly ten different styles of martial arts. Bruce Lee became a master martial artist, and even founded his own branch, named Jeet Kune Do. While this may be a lesser known area of martial arts, notable Jeet Kune Do students include Chuck Norris and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. His talents don’t stop there however, as Bruce Lee is often credited with changing the way Asians were portrayed in Western cinema. Not someone who only cultivated an air of high achievement, Bruce Lee really lived the lessons he sought to impart. The following quotes are some of the most mind blowing examples of this man’s true wisdom.

10 Primary Causes of Disease and Dysfunction

Dr. Ben Kim, Guest
Waking Times

With few exceptions, disease and dysfunction do not appear overnight. Disease and dysfunction tend to develop slowly, usually over many years as subtle and overt signs that mark loss of health are ignored.

I have found that many people feel that they are fine until they get diagnosed with a named condition like diabetes or hypertension. The reality is that degeneration is a fact of life – with each passing day, we lose some of our health potential. It’s the paceat which our bodies degenerate that we influence through our daily choices. By understanding the main causes of disease and dysfunction, we can make dietary and lifestyle choices that promote longevity.

10 Quotes From a Sioux Indian Chief That Will Make You Question Everything About “Modern” Culture

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Thu, 01/22/2015 - 08:57

Luther Standing Bear was an Oglala Lakota Sioux Chief who, among a few rare others such as Charles EastmanBlack Elk and Gertrude Bonnin occupied the rift between the way of life of the Indigenous people of the Great Plains before, and during, the arrival and subsequent spread of the European pioneers. Raised in the traditions of his people until the age of eleven, he was then educated at the Carlisle Indian Industrial Boarding School of Pennsylvania, where he learned the english language and way of life. (Though a National Historical Landmark, Carlisle remains a place of controversy in Native circles.)

"We did not think of the great open plains, the beautiful rolling hills, the winding streams with tangled growth, as ‘wild’. Only to the white man was nature a ‘wilderness’ and only to him was it ‘infested’ with ‘wild’ animals and ‘savage’ people. To us it was tame. Earth was bountiful and we were surrounded with the blessings of the Great Mystery."

Wi-Fi Exposure: Is It Really More Hazardous to Children?

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Thu, 01/22/2015 - 08:54

Because of modern communications technologies, our exposure to EMF continues to increase. Appliances such as TVs, microwaves and smart meters all emit microwave radiation, but more importantly so do all of our personal, wirelessly-connected devices such as cell phones, tablets and laptops.

Researchers are now questioning if exposure to Wi-Fi, and the increasing usage of Wi-Fi connected devices by children and adolescents, are putting the younger generations at a greater risk of health complications in their future.

A new report entitled, “Why children absorb more microwave radiation than adults: The consequences,” published in the Journal of Microscopy and Ultrastructure addresses this issue. The report’s authors, L. Lloyd Morgana, Santosh Kesarib, and Devra Lee Davisa, based their findings from peer-reviewed studies. They argue that exposure to radiation given off by wireless devices can be very risky for children and teens because a young brain is more absorbent and the skull is thinner.

Cannabis Reduces Brain Damage Caused By Booze, Say Scientists

According to a new study published in the journal Pharmacology and Behavior, chemicals within cannabis have antioxidant properties that protect the brain’s cells from damage caused by excessive consumption of alcohol.  This study outlines how excessive alcohol consumption results in neuro-degeneration, as well as a variety of behavioral and cognitive impairments. But the delivery of cannabidiol transdermally has shown promising in treating that degeneration. The study concludes that CBD transdermal treatments are effective for this.

The results of this study justify further preclinical development of transdermal CBD for the treatment of alcohol-induced neuro-degeneration. It has been suggested that the neuroprotective effects of CBD observed during binge alcohol induced neurodegeneration are due to its high antioxidant capacity, but more research is needed.

Have You Hacked into Infinity?

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Wed, 01/21/2015 - 17:05

What does it mean that something can change in a heartbeat? It means it takes an instant, probably an instant between beats. This is how illness can be undone in an instant. This is how good will can take over the world. This is how work can be done.

Plodding is necessary in the present world because plodding is believed in. It takes time to accomplish this or that. If time does not truly exist, why would it take time?

In terms of the world, Rome wasn’t built in a day. In terms of the world, who can argue this?

At the same time, there have been instant cures and instant miracles of diverse kinds. These miracles may have happened because, as in science fiction, the one upon whom a miracle was bestowed, somehow slipped out of time or witnessed a non-passage of world time.

At night you have had dreams that went on and on, and yet, in truth, the dream may have taken place in a mere instant.

As you get older, the past does seem more and more like a dream, and somehow, now the dream’s continuity becomes fleeting, as if what had been a sequence actually happened all at once in one instant and wasn’t really parked anywhere. Your life may be a long story to tell in words, and, yet, your life is a flash of an instant of no-time.

Have you hacked into Infinity? It would seem so. You, an ordinary person like you who doesn’t know much and may even admit this, somehow you hacked into Infinity, OR you were hacked into Infinity for an instant of no time.

Who is who and what is what?
