5 Decisions That Will Change Your Life

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Tue, 12/02/2014 - 08:15

This is a guest article from Kimanzi Constable: www.kimanziconstable.com

In May of 2011 I hated life. I was 170 pounds overweight, I was at a job I hated, and we lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (not the safest city in the world). I had no goals, no dreams, and no desire beyond the monotony.

There were times when I wanted to make a change, but with no college degree or any special skills, I felt stuck. In June of 2011 things came to a boiling point when my wife and I separated.

I sat there on a hot summer day in Wisconsin, fed up enough to take action. With all the craziness going on, I started writing. Those scribblings are what led to my first book, which was self-published in August of 2011. The book flopped for the first six months, but I was proud of taking the first step.

In April of 2012 my father died at 54 unexpectedly. His death was the wake-up call and motivation I needed to keep pushing forward. After researching, I self-published a second, and both books went on to sell over 82,000 copies. I signed with a publisher, and my first published book was released in May of 2013.

Jester Guru Chronicles, Part 2: Redefining God

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Tue, 12/02/2014 - 08:15

“If God dwells inside us like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that’s what He’s getting” – Jack Handy

Today, using my seventh sense, I found a worm that had a god in it, and that god glared in at the god in me that had a worm in it. And it got me to questioning things: What is this drunken physiology; this aggrandized cell-tautology; this clockwork of blood and bone? What is this mechanism in my head, this impossible chimera, doing backflips in my skull? How can it even come close to being a thing that can comprehend such a concept as God?

And then I remember a quote by Goethe: “The highest to which man can attain is wonder.” And I think, maybe God is precisely this: wonder, imagination, curiosity, awe. But, then again, maybe not. And then I remember a quote by Paul Tillich: “There is a God behind the gods of men and women –one that can be experienced but not defined, and that makes all of our definitions woefully inadequate.” Bingo! Wait. What? We’re back to where we started? We sure are.

Liberty is the Politics of Love

Wake Up World

By Robin Koerner

You know you love someone when you want for them what they want for themselves.

The three little words that really convey this sentiment are not, “I love you “, which can mean all kinds of things to all kinds of people; rather they are, “As you wish”.

Love is kind, expansive, proactive, and fundamentally non-constraining. And although some of us may disagree on a positive definition of love, we can surely all agree about what it is not: restricting, compelling, imposing, or violating the right of another to pursue his own happiness and self-actualization. Those characteristics attach to something altogether incompatible with love – and that is Fear.

And it is evident that fear has also been the driver of our nation’s (and global) politics for many years.

A barrage of small impacts likely erased much of the Earth’s primordial atmosphere

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Tue, 12/02/2014 - 07:50

Today’s atmosphere likely bears little trace of its primordial self: Geochemical evidence suggests that Earth’s atmosphere may have been completely obliterated at least twice since its formation more than 4 billion years ago. However, it’s unclear what interplanetary forces could have driven such a dramatic loss.

Now researchers at MIT, Hebrew University, and Caltech have landed on a likely scenario: A relentless blitz of small space rocks, or planetesimals, may have bombarded Earth around the time the moon was formed, kicking up clouds of gas with enough force to permanently eject small portions of the atmosphere into space.

Tens of thousands of such small impacts, the researchers calculate, could efficiently jettison Earth’s entire primordial atmosphere. Such impacts may have also blasted other planets, and even peeled away the atmospheres of Venus and Mars.

More mysterious holes discovered under shifting Mount Baldy dune, Indiana

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Tue, 12/02/2014 - 07:50

Six new mysterious holes have been discovered in the shifting sands of Mount Baldy since last summer when a big hole swallowed a 6-year old boy who remained buried under 3.3 meters (11 feet) of sediment for several hours until he was rescued.

A year after, scientists still don't have the answers on what causes this holes to form on the southern shore of Lake Michigan, USA.

US National Park Service officially closed the Mount Baldy area due to hazardous conditions and the location remains closed until further notice.

So far, scientists from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Indiana University Geological Survey have identified six unstable areas, including 80 by 30 meters (263 by 99 foot) area where most of the collapses have occurred.

Daily Message ~ Tuesday December 2, 2014

Dear Ones, would you feel better if you could substitute the words surrender and flow with love? Because surrendering into the flow is moving back into unconditional love. Love is the great expander and creator you are seeking. You cannot wish to experience love and then avoid surrender and flow and be successful. They are all one and the same. ~Archangel Gabriel

“Magic” Mushrooms Could Become A Great Tool For Hospice And Palliative Care

There’s one thing each of us have in common, and that is that we all die eventually. During our final days, barring that our deaths aren’t sudden or accidental, a great deal of care goes into taking care of the person making the next big leap in life. And psilocybin, or “magic” mushrooms could play a part.

I know I know, it sounds like the fixins for a pretty rough trip, being near death and all. But as it turns out, people experience it as a very liberating experience and helps the user feel alive again, especially if they’ve been ill for a length of time.

“All of our subjects expressed a lot of gratitude that this opportunity was open to them,” says Dr. Charles Grob of the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Near death, many of his patients had lost their sense of meaning and purpose. And this helped...

Emptying the Mind

By Wes Annac, The Culture of Awareness

Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless – like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend. -Bruce Lee

In our society, the mind’s generally seen as a good thing. Gaining knowledge is very important, and what other way to do so than to use the mind and its practically infinite capabilities?

I have nothing against the mind, and neither do the spiritual teachers we’ll hear from here. Like them, I recognize that the mind’s an important instrument for the expression of consciousness and the gaining of knowledge, and it can take us far if we know how to use it.

New Research Shows Cannabis Treats And Prevents Alzheimer’s Disease

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Mon, 12/01/2014 - 21:31

New research published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease in September discussed findings that shocked me. Their research concluded that THC could be a potential treatment option for Alzheimer’s disease via a variety of pathways and uses.

Some one in 3 seniors will die from Alzheimer’s or another type of dementia. Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, afflicts 5 million Americans, and costs $203 billion in 2013.

Researchers treated Alzheimer’s research cells with THC and then looked for amyloid-β at 6, 24 and 48 hour intervals. Amyloid-β is a protein linked to Alzheimer’s symptoms. There was strong evidence to show that THC effectively lowered amyloid-β’s presence.

Share Your Knowledge: Day 91, Chuen 13

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Mon, 12/01/2014 - 21:30

SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE Imagine the entire world returning to a cycle of communing together and assisting each other to overcome the negative thinking and belief codes that currently wreak havoc on the Earth and beyond.

Can you imagine the beauty and peace that will exist as each of you returns to your way of Be-ing, of perfect Spirit, while living in the human form? It is possible, but will take effort from all, beginning with you.

There are many ways to be of service, yet the most overlooked is the simple act of sharing what has been of value to you. This does not mean that what works for you is the best for all; it only means that you have found something of value that may be of assistance to others.

There is danger in becoming superior and feeling that your knowledge is better than others. Fight this belief code for it is the ego that is talking and will create issues of power and control over others. It is the balancing of the ego that is required in order to create peace and harmony on the planet.
