The human experience is not an easy one. When we enter this world we are given few guarantees about what awaits us on our journey. We are promised times of joy and times of sorrow, times of thriving and times of suffering, times of hope and times of despair.

Pain is unavoidable. No one escapes life without enduring their share of it. It may seem as if some have larger burdens than others, but that is not true. It is one’s perception that determines the weight of an experience. No two people have the same reality so no two people will experience adversity the same way.

There are many factors that contribute to our interpretation of life’s challenges. Upbringing plays a significant role in preparing us for the road that lies ahead. We navigate that road through the use of coping skills, healthy or unhealthy...

Meet Will Allen. Will, of the organization Growing Power, has designed an incredible aquaponics growing system that covers a 3 acre farm and produces a simply massive amount of food. 1 million pounds of food every year! Could you imagine making that much food in your yard?

It goes to show how abundant food could be if each of us stepped up and grew a little bit. It gets even easier when you grow it efficiently.

Michigan’s Republican governor, Rick Snyder, signed a bill on Tuesday that will keep Tesla Motors, the electric car maker, from selling cars directly to customers in the state. The law simply clarifies that no car manufacturers can directly sell in the state; all cars must be sold through franchised retailers.

No big deal, right? Well, not exactly. Michigan is now the 5th state with this rule. It also bans Tesla from operating “galleries,” or places where potential customers can go to view Tesla cars. They cannot discuss prices, take orders or take cars on test drives in these galleries.

The state’s Senate passed the bill 38-0, and the state house passed it 106-1. Tesla isn’t mentioned by name, but it’s clear that the legislation is directed at the company...

There is a growing grassroots resistance to Monsanto, that much is clear. GMO labeling initiatives are on the ballot in Oregon and Colorado, and this amazing video, taken by Adam Eidinger, shows a Monsanto shareholder meeting. Eidinger also discusses the dangers and negative impact of GMO crops, roundup, and other Monsanto creations. A shocked Monsanto spokesperson, CEO Hugh Grant, brushes off the concerns and assures him that the company cares about the concerns of their shareholders.

Which, you know, obviously, but what about the rest of us? Eidinger follows up by asking how much Monsanto spends on crushing GMO labeling campaigns. They recently gave millions of dollars to the anti-GMO labeling campaign in Colorado.
