Americans spend about 90 percent of their food budget on processed foods, which contain a wide array of artificial food additives, preservatives, colors, and flavor enhancers.

More than 10,000 additives are allowed in food when you factor in those that are added directly to your food as well as those in the packaging—such as bisphenol-A (BPA), bisphenol-S (BPS), and phthalates—which can migrate to your food.

That your health can suffer as a consequence of this chemical assault should come as no surprise. After all, your body is not a machine designed to run on synthetic chemicals.

1. You feel like you’ve woken up dead.

Basically your mind wakes up but your body doesn’t, so you essentially feel trapped inside of your body unable to move. Many people wake up feeling like they’re dead.

2. It happens as you fall asleep and wake up.

Sleep paralysis can happen during either of the two transitions in your natural sleep cycle. Your body goes into REM and must eventually come out, but sleep paralysis happens when your body has trouble making the transition.

3. Sleep paralysis often includes hallucinations.

People with sleep paralysis have reported nightmares, but while awake. The mind is alert and the eyes are open. Some of these hallucinations end up being terrifying ones that feel as real as any other waking moments.

4. You can’t wake your body up.

You just have to wait it out.

5. It’s natural and it can happen to you.

It can happen to anyone really. Most people will have at least one episode of it in their lives, but may not actually be aware it happened.

In a recent report from the academic journal Perspectives on Politics, the United States is not a democracy, but is instead, an oligarchy. For those who aren’t up with fancy words, this means that the US government is very, very corrupt.

The news: A new scientific study from Princeton researchers Martin Gilens and Benjamin I. Page has finally put some science behind the recently popular argument that the United States isn’t a democracy any more. And they’ve found that in fact, America is basically an oligarchy.

An oligarchy is a system where power is effectively wielded by a small number of individuals defined by their status called oligarchs. Members of the oligarchy are the rich, the well connected and the politically powerful, as well as particularly well placed individuals in institutions like banking and finance or the military.

When you let your heart lead the way, it is like you turn on a beam of light that will continually illuminate the next steps of your journey. You may like the idea of staying the same, living in the same house, never growing old, yet, when you think about it, you don’t desire this either. You are stalemated. You don’t want to change, and you don’t want to stay the same.

All of life in the relative world is about change, and change upon change.
