Edward Bernays was the master of influencing and shaping public opinion who developed upon the ideas of earlier social psychologists and the work of his uncle, Sigmund Freud, in order to create techniques to manipulate the subconscious desires of the masses.

Throughout his 103-year lifespan, the “father of public relations” was at the pinnacle of his field advising US Presidents Coolidge, Eisenhower, Hoover and Wilson, as well as inventor Thomas Edison, US industrialist Henry Ford and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. He also reportedly refused invitations by Hitler and Franco to work on fascist propaganda campaigns in Europe.

Connecticut Becomes 2nd State To End Homelessness For Vets

Following Virginia’s lead, all veterans who need a home in the state of Connecticut can now get one. This move makes the state the second in the US to end homelessness for those who have served their country.

Virginia must find a home for any veteran who wants one within 90 days of submitting an application, and though Las Vegas, and Syracuse and Schenectady in New York are attempting similar programs, Connecticut has beaten them in the race to end homelessness in America.

Utah has a program for the homeless as well, though it gives apartments to the chronically under-housed, instead of focusing on just Veterans. In just eight years, the state has reduced homelessness by 78 percent. Citizens call the program a ‘housing-first’ solution to multiple social problems.

Nixon Advisor Admitted War On Drugs Invented To Crush Anti-War And Black Movements

Submitted by Galactic Free Press on Fri, 03/25/2016 - 08:23

by Carey Welder, The AntiMedia

In 1994, a former Nixon policy adviser admitted the War on Drugs was waged not to keep Americans safe, but to crush dissent. According to John Ehrlichman, who served time in prison for his involvement in the Watergate scandal, the Drug War was intended to disempower anti-war and black rights movements in the 1970s.

Author Dan Baum wrote in the April edition of Harper’s Magazine that in 1994, he spoke with now-deceased Ehrlichman, who frankly explained why President Nixon pushed prohibition:

Agreement

While moving through your daily existence, remember that each person you come in contact with has their own agreement with The Universe. It is not up to you to understand what that may entail or the reasons behind it. This is just a gentle reminder to treat each person with the love and respect that each student deserves as they travel along their path. ~ Creator

5 Pieces of Monsanto’s Corporate History We’re Not Supposed to Think About

Monsanto is quite possibly the world’s most hated company, but few know much of the history of this multi-national giant.

“When a company claims its product improves on nature, many consumers happily declare the product an example of scientific progress. Equally powerful, though, is the inclination toward skepticism.” – Jesse Hicks

This skepticism is the reason millions now understand the shady and insidious nature of corporations like Monsanto. In fact, in a 2013 poll Monsanto was declared the “most evil corporation” in the world, beating McDonald’s and even the Federal Reserve by a wide margin. However, not everybody knows just how far back this corruption truly goes.

God said:

To move your life in a direction you want, feel better first.

Feeling that you are in a slump, depressed, discouraged doesn't help you move your life forward. Feeling in a slump tends to keep you where you are.

Your feet are get caught in quicksand, and you can't move, and so you prep yourself for struggle. The quicksand you are stuck in is the morass of your thoughts. You may say to yourself over and over again: "What a terrible situation I am in."

If only you could push a button that would take you to feeling better, then better news will arise.

So, here again, you have to look at a dismal situation, and look at it differently. Let's say you lost your job. You panic about loss of income, and you allow your sense of worth to flatten itself. You have been dealt an unkind unfair blow. You see an enemy who did not do right by you. Do not make yourself into a victim extraordinaire. Do not believe it.

Look at this dire situation differently. You must look at it differently.

For instance, you have been dismissed from the company where you work, shoved out, of no use to the company you gave your whole heart to abundantly and loyally. Kicked out. No matter how unjust and how unwarranted, now it is goodbye. So long, you're on your own now.

Now you are to get out of the precise small picture and enter a larger arena beyond the boundaries you wrapped your heart and mind in. Arise.

6 Books You Probably Don’t Know About That Will Keep Your Attention Until The Very Last Page

Reading is incredible. It sparks our imaginations, enhances our critical thinking skills, improves our vocabulary, exercises our brain, and much more. While our love for reading in general will never die, it does seem that, these days, its popularity has waned significantly. Many kids today, and plenty of adults too, can’t seem to wrap their heads around sitting and doing ‘nothing’ for any extended amount of time when they could instead experience new and intense sensory information every few seconds instead. You’d be hard-pressed to find a child (or teen) that won’t throw a fit the moment you take their cell phone or iPad away from them, and it’s not illogical to wonder if children today are even using their brains; surely the constant TV watching and time spent on social media doesn’t challenge their minds in the way that a book can. Whether you’re an adult or a child, reading is definitely a good idea; the key is to find something that interests you. The rest is easy.
