By now you’ve probably heard the phrase “being in the now”. Although it seems pretty self explanatory and simple to do (because the “now” moment is actually the only moment that we ever can be in, technically), this is something that many of us still struggle with. Ironically, the fact that we need to be told to be in the one place that there ever is to be in, speaks volumes of our species. But, hey, we’re getting there, right?

So if we need to be told to live in the now and that means that most of us are not living in the now moment, then where exactly are we? In our thoughts about the now, of course. Or, our thoughts about the “now” that happened two years ago, or the “now” that happened two hours ago, or even the “now” that may or may not happen five years from, well, now. For many, an entire life can happen all inside of their head.

Maricopa County, Arizona — On February 17, 20-year law enforcement veteran Charles Cornfield, as well as five other police officers, filed a lawsuit in Maricopa County Court against the the Arizona Board of Regents, former ASU Police Chief John Pickens, current Police Chief Michael Thompson, and 10 other ASU employees. Cornfield is supported by fellow officers Benjamin R. Flynn, Bernard Linser, Patrick Murphy, William J. O’Hayer, and Matthew V. Parker.

The officers claim ASU Police attempt to make the university seem more safe by misreporting crime statistics. Courthouse News reports:

“The officers claim they were ordered ‘to change crime statistics or otherwise falsify the crime statistics to make ASU appear safer, and supervisors directed employees to change crime classification to avoid the community from seeing the crime that occurred on or around the campus.’

So many of you feel like you have to present yourself as different than you really are to gain the respect and approval of others. This can be a very separating experience, as it does not allow people to connect with the true essence of you. When you are attempting to be someone other than who you really are, even your successes will feel hollow because they are not based on your authenticity. This will result in you feeling less present and less engaged in your own life.

There is nothing more beautiful, more glorious, than you expressing yourself in your truth and your own divinity! The unique energy and preferences you were born with are there to be your loving contribution to the world. As you accept this and step out into the light, unabashedly, in your divine perfection, you will finally be allowing the energies in that celebrate and embrace you in your truth. You have been very good at beating yourself up. There is no percentage in denouncing yourself in the first place. Get off your own back. Absolve yourself from weakness. Beating yourself up is a great weakness. It surpasses making up a false defense, alibi, or excuse. Beating yourself up does not benefit you or anyone.

Excuses are only words. Beating yourself up is also made only of words. Give up the words, and love yourself once more and for once and for all. Love looking at yourself in the eye. You are a human being who may have liked to run away from responsibility. The whole population is well familiar with the desire to duck responsibility. Gain then from having piled up your plate too high. Swear off this kind of indulgence called defending yourself at the same time as you linger over a mistake. No longer find reasons to berate yourself.

No longer are you to indulge yourself in attempting to get yourself out of a situation you put yourself into so flawlessly. No longer delve into regrets either.

Within you lie both an adult and a child. The child in you looks for loop holes all over the place and grabs onto one the way the boy in a nursery rhyme pulled out a plum and said: "What a good boy am I!" Avoiding truthfulness is not a good idea. Fooling yourself is not a good idea.

The past 10 years or so have been transformational for so many people. An awakening is in play where all over the globe people are waking up to new ideas and ways of being. We are indeed shifting from a paradigm in which a masculine power structure has dominated every level of our collective experience. This “shift” is not without its growing pains. Unfortunately we don’t simply arrive, and then that’s it. There’s a continual spiraling through layers and layers here in this new energetic paradigm. Some layers, however, are easier to navigate than others. And the harder ones ask us to stretch rather quickly.

CEO pay continues to skyrocket at an exponential pace, as do the wages of the top executives beneath them. This is that ‘rat race’ we all live in, which sees all of us chasing money — at the expense of nearly everything else. While money is admittedly necessary at this moment to survive and put food on the table, how much is enough? If you view social issues like poverty to be the result of a lack of resources and money, why do so few of us question the current wealth allocation and distribution on the planet? If we were to take very small percentages of pay from the elite ‘1’ percent, we could use that money to feed, clothe, and house everybody on the planet.

As a result of this skyrocketing trend, the money of millions of people with pensions, IRAs, and 401 (k) plans continues to be expropriated, and there appears to be nothing we can do about it. Robert Reich, an American political economist, explains the severity of the situation in a recent post on his Facebook page:
