A new study from the Journal of Psychopharmacology has found that taking psychedelic drugs does not result in impairment of mental health or an increased risk of depression. From the three drugs that were involved (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide or LSD, Psilocybin and Mescaline), the study declared that there are ‘no significant associations between lifetime use of psychedelics and increased likelihood of past year serious psychological distress, mental health treatment, suicidal thoughts, suicidal plans and suicide attempt, depression and anxiety.’

People who experiment with psilocybin “report it as one of the most profound experiences they’ve had in their lives, even comparing it to the birth of their children.” [Source]

San Francisco, CA – In a landmark decision, a federal court found that the federal government has no standing to block the legal operation of medical cannabis dispensaries, provided they comply with state laws.

The decision was a direct result of a congressional act last December, in which Congress cut off federal funding for the prosecution of cannabis clubs, provided they were operating within current state law.

The landmark decision came in the case of Lynette Shaw, who ironically opened the first licensed medical marijuana dispensary in the United States. Her dispensary was ultimately raided and shut down by the DEA in 2011.

Shaw has been in court over 100 times fighting the legality of the closure since her dispensary was shuttered, according to NBC. The decision by U.S. Judge Charles Breyer ended the long-running battle she has been engaged in with the federal government.

If the phone conversation with President Obama is any indication of Justin Trudeau’s commitment, Canada will be giving its southern neighbor lessons in peace and freedom.

Trudeau, Canada’s Prime Minister-elect, told Obama on Tuesday that he will withdraw their fighter jets from Iraq and Syria. Both of these campaigns represent U.S. military aggression based on deceit and manufactured consent.

By withdrawing machines of death and destruction from the two countries plagued by military hegemony, Trudeau is making a strong statement and standing firm behind his commitment.

“I committed that we would continue to engage in a responsible way that understands how important Canada has a role to play in the fight against ISIL (Islamic State), but he (Barack Obama) understands the commitments I’ve made around ending the combat mission,” he told reporters in Ottawa on Tuesday.

The current educational system, which stresses compartmentalization and standardized testing, is limiting the inherent abilities we all possess. It’s as if the educational system is simply set up in a way that directs us only to memorize and regurgitate rather than question, express, connect, and create. We are taught to fall in line and adhere to “The Matrix” rather than being our unique, authentic selves.

What do you do if someone has hurt your feelings or violated a boundary you have set for yourself?  The most important thing to remember is that your energy has played a part in the situation.  This is not saying that you are wrong….it is saying that you have a choice on how to react to it.  Was it an honest mistake?  Then take a deep breath and forgive the situation.  However, if you choose to set a boundary, allow others violate it, then loudly proclaim your hurts only to do it again keeps you in the same space you were in the beginning.  Remember, growth begins with you…..just do it. ~ Creator

The new week starts with Sun in the intense zero degree of Scorpio. That is a very INTENSE place in the zodiac for the Sun, and he conjuncts Apollon, also at 0 Scorpio, on October 23. Apollon in the heart of the Sun has potential as a most enjoyable experience. Learning, teaching, images of magnetic and mysterious famous people, and multiplication of wealth are potent themes dominating the transits for a short time at the beginning of the week. Pluto has a feel of being “all things to all people” this week. He makes a harmonious trine to his aggressive soldier, Mars; he’s expanded by the same aspect to Jupiter; Venus’ ease also links harmoniously with Pluto’s magnetic power; and Pluto is at the focal point of a cardinal t-square with Mercury and Mercury’s tutor, Uranus, literally introducing “brainpower” into the mix of energies in the transits this week. (Juno – relatedness – is conjunct Mercury and therefore she also squares Pluto.) No doubt that use of keen perspectives and transformation of self, others, and situations top the list of themes in the transits this week, particularly pertaining to public life, career, and the formation of structure, with Pluto in Saturn’s domain, Capricorn.
