We have new pharmaceuticals being introduced every year for fictitious and nonsensical diagnoses such as Mathematics Disorder, Intermittent Explosive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Orthorexia Nervosa (healthy eating) and so many other inventions called diseases for the sole purpose of selling more drugs. In what many critics are calling lunacy of unimaginable proportions, The World Health Organization (WHO) now plans to lay down the framework that will set the precedent for classifying aging, something that should be embraced and celebrated, into a disease with elaborate protocols expected to be finalized in 2018.

Most people in modern times have been somewhat unanimous that wrinkles, grief and homosexuality are not diseases, although not if you ask the WHO, all of the above may soon be classified as a disease given enough time.

A look at the recent conference Plant Consciousness: Revolutionizing Our Relationship with Plants.

When I decided to join the Plant Consciousness event in London, I was still enjoying the traveling life in Peru. As I had slowed down to become more sensitive to the subtle life of nature, I was excited about these topics of consciousness, quantum physics, the amazing intelligence of the plant world and teacher plants such as Iboga and Ayahuasca.

Plant Consciousness, set in the beautiful Regents Park (the University Conference Center to be exact) with over 300 people in attendance, opened my mind. Opened to the wide range of sensing, seeing and hearing that exists in plants and trees, the direct influence plants have via chemical compounds in our brain – and therefore our mood and behaviours – and why and how to start listening to what plants, in essence our elders, have to say to us.

Patient zero has never been identified. To this day, public health officials still don’t know who brought measles into Disneyland. Yet in no time at all, public health officials joined with pharmaceutical company and medical trade organization lobbyists and immediately started calling for elimination of all non-medical ‘personal belief’ vaccine exemptions — in other words, the right to decline vaccination due to either religious or conscientiously held beliefs.

Modern medicine is in crisis. The reason: it’s just not working.

Chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, arthritis, obesity, and allergies are increasing with no letup in sight and account for seven of the top ten causes of death as of 2010. Heart disease and cancer accounted for forty eight percent of all deaths. Modern medicine may be great at dealing with infectious disease and traumatic injuries, but has failed to stem the tide of chronic disease.

In addition, surveys indicate that two-thirds of patients feel disrespected by their physicians, forty-four percent feel doctors don’t spend enough time with them and a quarter believe physicians don’t answer questions and don’t adequately involve them in treatment decisions, and use medical terms with no explanation.

With the increasing rate of global population growth, the question of finding alternative places to live is becoming more and more vital. While some are advocating the idea of space colonization, others believe there are still plenty of places to settle on our planet.

For example, Japanese construction company Shimizu Corp suggests the following unusual concept for the future home of humanity: a giant underwater city called “Ocean Spiral” and powered by energy from the ocean floor.

According to the company, this design will also help solve the problem of island nations, including Japan, who are threatened by the rise of sea levels caused by climate change.

“I just think it is time we try something new,” said the doctor to his patient, “It’s called Abilify.”

“But I’ve been doing well,” the patient pleaded, “I have had no problems for over six months and I am feeling fine.”

The Hippocratic Oath is often quoted in alternative health circles, and it is still taken today by those practicing allopathic medicine. Written in iconic Greek in the late 5^th century BCE, the oath is considered the gold-standard by which modern medicine should be practiced.
